Long story short, the selector switch is faulty

Lasts exactly three years - then the L/R selector switch goes bad and audio will cut in and out

now after a year of use, the position selector switch has failed (gone intermittent) and the speakers are useless.

Bought these two years ago this week and for the past month, the left/right selector switch has been very shaky - sometimes the "master" speaker will just quit while the slave is still working, but moving it from one position to the other fixes it

It was clear the selector switch had gone bad

I really wish i could give these bad boys 5 stars, but the manufacturer really skimped out on some capacitors, and left many consumers with the same problem: Either one speaker is louder than the other, or the switch to toggle between which is L and which is R is not well built, which leads to them not working

but lately i'm experiencing the "faulty L/R switch" issue others have mentioned

This is annoying, especially if your best headphones are open-back- Half the time I use the speakers, theydo not work due to a really cheap L/R selector switch.

Solidly built, excellent sound, all the I/O options you need, they come complete with cables, sound insulating pads, and have a nice option to "flip" the powered side to left or right
