Excellent sound, convenient, smooth operation

Superior sound to 5005.

The USB cord is a great addition to already a amazing sounding easy to use CD player

Sound is warm and clear

Sound is accurate with no discernable distortion and sweet with no shrillness

This CD player has a marvelous sound: very transparent, bold (not filler sound that is muddled), very precise with instrument placement & reproduction quality, and just a beautiful range of highs, mids, and lows that simply put you into experience of the music.

After the disc is inserted it makes loud sounds while trying to read, intermittently it fails to recognize discs, skips music within tracks

Sound is awesome.

I had the pre-amp volume set at roughly "3.5", and the sound was brilliant, clear, and on the verge of being uncomfortably loud

I have tried with authority, and excellent, clear, and powerful sound, except the Hifiman HE-6.Slightly warmer than the CD6005 it replaces, but has more resolution and better sound staging, smoother, and slightly better bass

The discrete headphone output has top notch sound, and way more than enough power output to drive Sennheiser HD650, 800, and 800 S headphones, and this is at medium gain

Excellent sound for the money

So if you like the 1541A chip sound, you'll appreciate this Marantz 6006.
