I love the tone
-
Years ago, I tried a set of monel strings for a guitar (they weren't Martin) and didn't like the tone at all.
-
Good string to tone down an overly bright guitar.
-
Great tone, strings last longer than the regular bronze coated Martin strings
-
Get a great tone from these strings.
-
Great feel and great tone.
-
Not the deep, old fashioned warm tone that was promised
-
The tone they bring especially when they have played a bit are is perfect, the combination of these and the D35 is the perfect one
-
when you first put them on, they have a nice mellow tone to them, not as bright as phosphor bronze, at least to my ears, and 2) the break in is shorter, I put them on and with a minimum of fuss (stretching strings out as they are put on and then stretching them to change tuning pitch slightly), you can tune them and they are relatively stable
-
The tone is quite bright at first, but after a couple of days mellows to a really nice place and stays there till they die in a month or more.
-
Just don't like the tone of these strings
-
D-18 and they give it a great overall rich tone
-
These strings have a warmer, deeper, and quieter tone than the bright sounding Elixir strings that I'm used to
