Reviews around balance (5.00 of 5)

  • The High and the middle are well balanced and bass is on the small side , but small price to pay for overall balance and clarity
  • This one made the guitar sound more sweet and mellow , a little less bass but with incredible note separation and balance
  • so it's better balanced string to string and from top to bottom

Reviews around nickel (5.00 of 5)

  • Regardless, they last a long time (close to coated strings) given the windings are solid monel (nickel-like metal) and not simply nickel coated.

Reviews around texture (5.00 of 5)

  • I love the texture of the strings, but they sounded horrible and dead to me

Reviews around bronze (5.00 of 5)

  • Not as bright as Phosphor Bronze (which is what I wanted), mellow sounding from the start and last about 3 weeks with daily playing.
  • when you first put them on, they have a nice mellow tone to them, not as bright as phosphor bronze, at least to my ears, and 2) the break in is shorter, I put them on and with a minimum of fuss (stretching strings out as they are put on and then stretching them to change tuning pitch slightly), you can tune them and they are relatively stable

Reviews around guitar (4.16 of 5)

  • the real issue is that they require a truly stellar guitar to really open up the possibilities
  • A lot more bass and volume has made my first cheap little guitar sound like a new instrument.

Reviews around tone (4.10 of 5)

  • These strings have a warmer, deeper, and quieter tone than the bright sounding Elixir strings that I'm used to
  • Not the deep, old fashioned warm tone that was promised
  • Great tone, strings last longer than the regular bronze coated Martin strings
  • Just don't like the tone of these strings
  • Years ago, I tried a set of monel strings for a guitar (they weren't Martin) and didn't like the tone at all.
