My band has completely failed.

so Microsoft will kindly send you bad bands as replacement since they know after a second or third you will be out of warranty.

I actually loved this band so much that after it quit holding a charge after 30 days of use the 1st time I had it replaced.

All was well until in about 3.5 for 4 months the band started to split where the display ends.

Had band for 1 year and 1 month and the wrist band is splitting at where it starts to curve around the wrist and where the display part ends and where the rubber part of the band starts

Those users whose bands which split must have been pinched, or bent under pressure to accomplish that split

We own an other Band 2 which is almost a year old and the band just split on it.

The second band that fell within warranty as a replacement band only lasted four months

If you end up buying one, please order a size larger than you'd expect, because the farther in you clasp the Band, the less stress on the rubber

The Band 1 also does not have a replaceable band however, but the rubber is much more durable.

The Band 2 is not as comfortable to wear as an Apple Watch or Pebble, however the level of integration it provides (and, on all three major mobile OSs, too) is just amazing.

I would highly recommend the Microsoft Band 2 and intend to buy one for my wife and daughter.

Microsoft says they are keeping data about this defect and the customers that are effected who call them, however, still not determined if they will recall the known defective band 2.
