This thing is amazingly versatile and fast.

so all things considered I highly recommend purchasing the keyboard & pen with the Surface Pro as you cannot enjoy full functionality of this device without them

The portability and the battery time are very important things and you can run a lot of videos and the surface will not get hot as the others

The one thing I won't do is disable Avast security (its not just Avast, MS' first order of telling you how to fix your machine is to disable any 3rd party security SW as they all cause issue

This thing is a nightmare.

Despite how awful this thing is, I still do love its portability, but as I will detail below, if you choose to go this route, you will have to deal with some issues

You CAN do some cool things with the stand that you can't do with a regular laptop, or even some 2-in-1 products

Suddenly things don't work as expected and I realize I accidentally turned off table mode.

The fans seem to not cool it fast enough, the thing gets so hot that it will freeze from time to time.

The only thing I would change is that I'd like to have a surface with a data plan, which I believe comes out in May 2018.
