The Ugly:- System requirements

I looked forward to the next version of Flight Simulator, the ads were impressive and it looked like my system would provide a solid platform

Of course, it's human nature to ask why the systems we put a good chunk of change on the line for a few years back begin to fail as we over-eagerly push those sliders to the right

You really do need all the latest (only a couple months old) PC Components to functionally run this SIM, and have the greatest $4-$5+k systems out there

Without a brand new coding this one will drag most systems down so that after cutting back in several areas you just as well stick to FS9 cranked up

It seems to me, that locking the FPS helps a lot on single core systems and helps some in dual-core systems, but it hurts quad-core systems

It's been years since I've messed with flight simulators and I recently built a new fast system and was in search of a game to 'show off' my new hardware

environment?I assumed that the MSFS X will require a better system that what I have in order to run the Sim at its full settings

Now my system is fairly modern with 3.4 ghz pentium 4 with 128 mb of vram

My system isn't that old and exceeds all of "recommended" requirements that Microsoft lists in their "minimum", "recommended" and "suggested" catagories and the frame rates are still way unexceptable even with all the settings past the Default and on the lowest setting

I am sure once the average user can afford a suitable system, Microsoft will come out with FS 11 and the whole process will start over again

As far as a flight system is concerned, I highly recommend the Saitek X52 Flight Control System.

If I had a fast enough system I'd be losing sleep with this simulator, but without a new gaming box with dual video cards (SLI) and quad core processor you're just going to get pissed off at how you can't raise the graphics settings to an acceptable level..

Tho my system is mediocre at best, and my video card is about 3-4 years old, I can still play the game and enjoy its potential.

However, it seams I will need a top-end system just to run it on lower settings

My computer, {windows 8) crashed a few days after my initial Flt Sim X install, and I ultimately had to refresh the windows system

While I have been generally happy with my decision, I am a bit dismayed that my system isn't powerful enough to utilize the full capabilities of FS X.The current incarnation of FS is quite an accomplishment

Any system faster than mine should have even better results!

That's because no one can inatall it because their system is not strong enough, so therefore they have not really "played" the game

I asked him if it would be better to wait till Vista comes out, or just upgrade from XP to Vista, he said it is better to have a clean operating system, than up grading to Vista.

There a learning curve but it isn¡¦t that steep -- at first.
