Second unit, wouldn't work

I clearly got a bad unit.

I had previously installed a more expensive unit that did not perform as well as this unit.

The batteries had to be changed and or inserted several times before the unit started working and then it only worked speraticly.

The indoor unit's weak battery light was NOT on, but I went ahead and changed out the batteries, and retested, it worked again.

As soon as I was finished, the unit stopped working and recalibration did not correct the problem

I wrapped the sensor bar in a Ziploc bag and tape as well as the sending unit to keep them dry

UPDATE 8/24/2017After 6 days my unit quit working altogether

The new one has much more volumn and it is a real nice working unit.

This unit works great except I wish there was a way to increase the volume as it is not loud enough to hear on both floors of our house.

Had a cheap Harbor Freight unit which was being set off by animals as well as cars.

I have a MUCH more expensive unit that worked better, only because it had a better audible announcement, but it just didn't last.

The mighty mule is a very good unit easy to install and to use

I think unit is loud enough to hear in all areas of my 2300 sq ft ranch

The new unit is intermittently failing to acknowledge passing cars, and was giving false alarms occasionally, failing to alarm for about 25% of the cars coming up the driveway (and alarming on them the next time!)

They called me back and said that the unit was dirty and damaged and that they would not replace it

I am going to try a more expensive unit also sold by Amazon.

Unit works fine and also picks up my golf cart

My 30-day return period was up on 8/25/2017 (next day), so I quickly dug up the outside unit, cleaned it up, packaged it, and returned it via UPS.

This unit works well no faults alarms unless the weather is damp witch may cause them to go into an endless loop.

I have been doing electronics repair for over 40 years and don't think the problem is likely to be anything but defective units

The unit then worked great, had a respectable range (at least 200 feet) and seems reliable, with very few false alarms.

These have proven to be reliable units.

Once you get the sensativity set correctly the unit is dependable

i like this product very well so far,lets me know when i have a visitor coming up the driveway.
