It hasn't been in place long enough to test it during severe weather conitions but I will update if necessary

Keeping sensitivity to the minimum needed for reliable detection, I generally get over 9 months service from fresh alkaline batteries in warm weather.

Alarm did not reach even 200 - 300' reliably in the countryside away from interference with new batteries in good weather.

The manual said you may need lithium in cold weather, and you probably will once it gets below 0 up here in MN.

I would recommend using lithium batteries in a cold weather climate

Yes this product works as it says it does , but it is not loud enough , I have heard a watch make a louder alarm , this is not an alarm it is useless .

We live in northwest Wisconsin with a long driveway and wanted something that alerted us to vehicles coming up the drive instead of being surprised by the doorbell, but did not think a motion sensor type would work as we also have a lot of deer in the area and figured we might hear the alarm throughout the night

(I don't want to destroy a hive), but the point was - it WORKED as I wanted it to.
