Mighty Mule Wireless Driveway Alarm (FM231)

    • It hasn't been in place long enough to test it during severe weather conitions but I will update if necessary
    • Keeping sensitivity to the minimum needed for reliable detection, I generally get over 9 months service from fresh alkaline batteries in warm weather.
    • Alarm did not reach even 200 - 300' reliably in the countryside away from interference with new batteries in good weather.
    • how well it holds up in bad weather.
    • There were no problems with functionality even in very cold (teens, twenties) weather
    • The manual said you may need lithium in cold weather, and you probably will once it gets below 0 up here in MN.
    • The weather is just now turning cold (10 degrees) and it is still telling me when someone is driving past it
    • I would recommend using lithium batteries in a cold weather climate
    • Seems to work best when weather is clear.
    • Although cold weather shrinks service life, the worst I've experienced is just two months when temps remained below 35F for days at a time.
    • Minor issue with batteries being finicky in very cold weather.
    • Not very good in very cold weather.
    • This is really only true in the winter, because the regular alkaline batteries have a big voltage drop in really cold weather, and cause havoc with the sensor
    • The change seems to have coincided with the cold, extremely wet weather
    • I learned over time that cold weather and higher sensor sensitivity settings both seemed to reduce battery life.
    • There have beeen Z_E_R_O errors with weather, darkness or animals
    • This seems like a good solid well built unit and works exactly as we want.
    • It works as like its supposed to.
    • This is the second one I have had, love it, works great!Easy to install, and works as it should right out of the box
    • Everything works as it should, and the range is adequate for our needs
    • Works exactly as I hoped it would
    • Item does indeed work as it is at the end of a 350 foot drive, wife loves not being surprised when someone pulls in to visit.
    • Yes this product works as it says it does , but it is not loud enough , I have heard a watch make a louder alarm , this is not an alarm it is useless .
    • We live in northwest Wisconsin with a long driveway and wanted something that alerted us to vehicles coming up the drive instead of being surprised by the doorbell, but did not think a motion sensor type would work as we also have a lot of deer in the area and figured we might hear the alarm throughout the night
    • (I don't want to destroy a hive), but the point was - it WORKED as I wanted it to.
    • I think the product works as it is supposed to.
    • The unit was easy to install and worked as it was meant to work.
    • There have beeen Z_E_R_O errors with weather, darkness or animals
