MisFit sent me a Shine after four Flashes quit working

Here are my cautions for buyers-to-be: if you're not tech-savvy, spend time (an hour) up front with someone who is tech-savvy to learn the device; you need a tablet or cell phone that is blue-tooth compatible in order to get the reports on activity, etc.; buy your Misfit ONLY from an authorized seller (directly from Misfit or from Amazon as seller and fufillment); if you're going to use the original band, use a little Gorilla glue to make sure the device stays secure in the band (or buy a secure band) to avoid losing the Misfit.

I am an avid swimmer and purchased the Misfit Shine Speedo because, as advertised, it was supposed to sync up with Speedo Fit and track swimming (laps, distance, etc.).

As for syncing issues, for Android I found that besides Bluetooth, you also need to be connected to the internet and have location settings on, and if you have any other apps that sync with the Misfit data (like My Fitness Pal), they must be closed

After reading many of the Misfit Shine reviews, I was almost put off from purchasing one, if not for the fact that I've used the Misfit Flash with great success

Got the Misfit Shine after 3 failed Misfit Flash(Not enough water proofing)

App - It has been more than 4 months with this device and despite several emails and not much helpful resolutions from Misfit support team my pain and agony continues

I took my Misfit Shine to my scuba dive trip, wore entire time on my chest in a bloom pendant (Shine did not sit in the pendant tightly, so I used a little rubber band in between, as a gasket).

I did have a problem with it when I used a different sport band than the one it came with, and Misfit was awesome about it!

Very disappointing to receive a dead Misfit, I was really liking the way it works for my husband but apparently their product is not very reliable.
