Misfit Shine - Activity and Sleep Monitor

    • Both times that happened was because I bumped into a doorway while carrying something
    • This . . . is a hassle, and every time I moved the Shine I worried that I was stretching out the clip or the band further, making it more
    • I almost lost my disc several times and it got all scratched up when it popped out of the band and bounced across the asphalt while I was walking through the parking lot at my gym
    • I found it luckily the first few times, but last time it fell out it was lost forever
    • Maybe time will improve a good looking and good idea product.
    • Accurate tracking of steps, activity, sleep; watch keeps time very well
    • I've lost it about 4 times in total, and every time it made my day when i eventually found it using sync feature
    • Don't waste your time.
    • Also it had a hard time syncing to the app regularly or even manually
    • Only a few time did that work.
    • I've lost mine a few times...once it rode all around town on my son's bike
    • The app is great ad now is really better, the only drawback is that sometimes looses time and have to resync to resolve the problem, even if it's minor
    • It seemed to fall asleep at odd times and then didn't wake up when I started to move around more.
    • The second time I lost it though was sometime during packing a backpack and driving home from a friends house
    • Each time, I have lost whatever count was on the device in the process of fixing it
    • After many, many emails and discussions, their answer is that they only have the original bands packaged with a new device and cannot open a new package to provide a proper sport band and they hope I will keep having a great time with my Speedo Shine
    • The Shine seldom syncs the first time for me, so I usually have to try to sync it a couple times before it does
    • However, I have almost lost this thing so many times that I wouldn't risk spending the money on it
    • It has fallen out of the wrist strap several time, but luckily I was able to find it
    • Half the time it wouldn't sync so my data wasn't always correct.
    • In five months, the disc fell out of the wristband no less than a dozen times.
    • The App works pretty good (a few times it froze on me) so it's nice tracking your sleep & activity.
    • My husband has the Fitbit Flex & he's having a great time with weekly challenges.
    • It is comfortable on the wrist.....but doesn't keep accurate lap/ distance/ or time spent in the pool
    • It even tells you time in a different way, flashing how late I am to my face, but it's still gratifying
    • Also question having to remove the shine from the delicate band/my arm and tap every time I want to pair to compensate
    • I find if I move the misfit from the strap to the clip a few times it seems to not fit right and breaks, The company has been very good about providing replacements so I have been able to continually use it.
    • What a waste of my money and my time!
    • After that, it's started giving me hard time connecting to the App
    • The android app doesn't work more than half the time.
    • I found I had to activate sleep mode from the startlingly bright app screen, which a few times actually woke me up sufficiently before bed to lead to nearly a half hour of lost sleep
    • Sometimes I barely brush it and it turns on, other times I'm almost punching it just to check time
    • I have to manually sync it with my phone &it never syncs the first time usually 3or 4 times if lucky
    • The first time it fell out of the strap he was able to find it, but the second time...not so lucky
    • It falls off constantly and the the shine actually comes out of the ring all the time
    • Unit has fallen out of band a couple times, but quickly found.
    • However, after a month the battery died, I replaced it 3 times in 2
    • I got another one and lost it again in spite of being super careful and using the clip, it fell both times from my jeans pocket
    • Just terrible timing.
    • I had a really hard time with the app and it just was not worth the frustration, which was too bad too because it has a lot of great features and some really pretty options when is comes to the accessories
    • I also like how the clock feature makes it easy to tell time working out
    • The other issue I have run into is that it has a hard time syncing to the app on my phone
    • As others mentioned, it does have a tendency to pop out of its wrist holder, and I did manage to knock it loose from the magnetic clip one time, but luckily I noticed it was missing right away and found it
    • Don't waste your time or money
    • The first time it fell out of the strap he was able to find it, but the second time...not so lucky
    • My main issue with it is that I have knocked the Misfit out of the band a few times
    • Customer service was very good and although I found my Shine each time they did send me a free band
    • I had a hard time getting it to turn on yesterday when I received it
    • Too few times in a two-day period, I lost data
    • (the time function is hard to read), so I sold it and bought a garmin vivoactive
    • Most of the time my first attempt to sync it will fail, and many times the second will also
    • I found the issue several times on Google, but no solution.
    • difficulty with phone connection (may be on my phone?), no smart alarm on Android, time is in 5 minute incrementsSo, I knew about the time increments in advance and was willing to trade that off for this cool tracker
    • The watch band was ok, but I went for a walk with the clip (I walk with my daughter in a stroller, so having it on my wrist wasn't getting accurate results) and lost the Shine some time within half an hour
    • Possibly due to it falling out so many times
    • If it fails me then the next time I may just buy one in the department store
    • Perhaps I should have given support more time to work out the issues, but I was already - at their suggestion, out the cost of a battery.
    • an all round healthier and happier life!I'd be interested to know if any other fitness tracker manufacturers show such a keen interest in their customers' fitness! Finally, there is also a Misfit app available for the Pebble Time smart
    • Now I have to try like 20 times to get it to sync at all, and if I finally do get it to sync, I can tell most of my activity is missing
    • It had fallen off a few times, even the device it self popped out
    • I lost this sucker probably 10 times and had to use a Bluetooth tracking app to find it each time
    • First time in the pool the finish on the face of the watch started to erode
    • There may have been a problem with mine though because it seemed to loose time and not accurately count steps
    • You can sync during days regular routine, but syncing while you are cycling, running a treadmill, etc., will mess up your times and readings
    • However I ultimately decided to return it because I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 and it had the most difficult time syncing to my phone
    • Misfit nicely replaced it, this time
    • It's beautiful and I get compliments all the time
    • People don't realize it's actually a fitness tracker, I get complimented on it all the time!
    • The only complaint I have is that I've had a hard time pairing it with other fitness apps
    • The time of day is accurate and it does keep track of steps well.
    • Have managed to increase my activity and log my diet regularly....which I had a very hard time with previously
    • Many times it has not worked so I don't sync for days at a time
    • I had a really hard time getting it open the first time to install the battery
    • Ok, so I tried just now and it worked as it should, showing progress and then time
    • 4 out of 5 times fails to sync --->
    • pretty! But, it wouldn't sync with my phone, it didn't display the time, and it didn't work right out of the box, which is never a good sign
    • on the samsung phone it recognized the shine the first time, but never again.
    • App crashes all the time
    • I have had to go hunting for my Shine two or three times in the past 8 months
    • I was orginally a little disappointed with the product, I had to replace it twice within the first month, the strap broke the first time and the second time it just stopped working for no apparent reason
    • I will be returning it in enough time to get a full refund.
    • I lost the Misfit disk many times, if you bump something it pops out of the band.
    • The first time, I lost it playing soccer, which I chalked up to it being my fault for wearing it during a soccer game (although I should be able to wear this activity tracker while doing active things)
    • It slipped out times until I lost it completely
    • I had a horrible time getting it to connect to the app on my galaxy
    • My iWatch tells me the time just fine and is lacking in it's fitness app
    • The automatic tracking of sleep is nice - no need to remember what time you fell asleep and woke up
    • I will definitely be more cautious this time around, but I am bumping up my review to 4 stars for the customer service at Shine and because I did really like the product
    • It failed automatically sync activities and would only record the correct time for about 30 minutes aftet a manual sync
    • Misfit a few times has contacted me and offered me a free battery which has been useful
    • Do not recommend wrist wear, as product was lost multiple times before being lost for good.
    • it's own a few times before I lost it for good.
    • The shine has held up beautifully in the chlorinated water and is really good at tracking the time I swim
    • First off, the magnet clip broke the first time I tried to put it on my shine
    • The bluetooth syncing intermittently fails multiple times before it works(3
    • I had trouble linking it to my phone - had to try over 10 times before it finally worked
    • The sensor is like to pop out of the stock band at the most unexpected times.
    • Do not waste your time with the included plastic band
    • Misfit explained that it's because of the significant time change, which is weird because it was not my first trip to Europe while having Misfit, and it was the first time it behaved this way.
    • The sport band is kinda weak - I lose the device time to time, so far in places it can easily be found in
    • The only negative is that my battery has died a few times unexpectedly, but now I know to keep a couple extra on hand.
    • Note that I disable most notifications (msgs, calls, etc) including the feature that tells you what time it is (that's kind of cool), and only sync it with my phone maybe 4 times a day
    • I only care about steps and sleep, but there is another benefit of showing the time through lighted dots, and the lights show what progress you’ve made towards your step goals
    • The bluetooth syncing intermittently fails multiple times before it works(3
    • For full disclosure, my Shine did come out one time when I was playing fetch with one of our dogs
    • Yes, misfit will replace the unit one time; however, the product hasn't been redesigned and thus you will lose the replacement as well
    • At first, I had a hard time adjusting the clasp but no other problems.
    • I emailed support two times and received quick responses and the information I needed.
    • It has worked great all this time and is only now getting a little unreliable in the last 2 days
    • Don't waste your time.
    • My watch isn't keeping accurate time anymore either
    • I love that I can keep track of my improving times on my bike ride to work - and tracking how far I walk while pushing my baby in her buggy on the weekends
    • Each time a replacement battery was installed, the device deleted data and eventually lost its syncing function.
    • I had overlooked the sporadic syncing and I even overlooked the inaccurate time
    • After nearly losing it 3 times I finally lost it on my last walk with my dog
    • I have lost my misfit shine out of the wristband 3 times.
    • I've had the Misfit for three weeks, and have had these tracking irregularities six times.
    • I also have to say that when I first got it and only had it attached with the accessories that came with it, I almost lost it multiple times because they didn't stay on.
    • I love the band and t chose the Misfit a second time because it doesn't have to be recharged and is more elegant looking than most fitness tracker.
    • Once that is done, anytime you tap the shine three times it puts on a light show in acknowledgement.
    • I actually like that it only shows progress dots (and time dots) on the face
    • It keeps accurate measurements of my activity and the time is always correct too!
    • I admit I have not been able to test the consistency with swimming as I have not done the same number of laps each time I've used it
    • Worn multiple ways, Looks good, tells accurate time, Counts laps accurately, you can buy other bands for it to go on
    • I love the band and t chose the Misfit a second time because it doesn't have to be recharged and is more elegant looking than most fitness tracker.
    • n’t miss it that much
    • n’t realize how much this type of display would annoy me
    • but I strong believe the flexibility in its design cause serious fault in the integrity of the gadget in the rubber enclosure
    • A texturized surface and better retention system would make this device more useful and vastly extend the service life by preventing premature loss such as I and so many other reviewers experienced
    • Fashionable - I upgraded to the metal mesh band and it looks just like a watch and goes pretty well with my
    • I will admit, I lost my first Shine at work when it fell out of the wrist band, however I really like the new band with the locking mechanism
