This is the second inexpensive activity tracker I have returned because of what seem to be design flaws, and I have resolved to shop for them only in brick and mortar stores where I can make sure they work while I am still in the store.

I take a water aerobics (Water in Motion) class and no other inexpensive fitness tracker goes in the water and comes out alive

how well this tracker works because I have found it nearly impossible to remove the back off to get the battery installed.

It worked well for several months, but after about four months the battery died and upon replacing it, the tracker didn't work well anymore.

Many friends have lost their trackers to death by water, or they lose activity tracking due to regular charging, but the most I have had to do is replace the battery (twice in the past year).

Now 3 more months later the tracker has fallen out and is lost

this tracker looks like jewelry, fits flat to my wrist

I have been using an inexpensive off brand fitness tracker for 6 months

The only thing it's missing is an integrated alarm to vibrate the tracker to wake you up.

I wanted to like this fitness tracker as I am tired of replacing Fitbit One units that get lost or lose battery power.

I admit I had a little problem opening the tracker to place the battery, but with a little patience I could see what I was doing wrong and got the battery in correctly.

Recently I've hit an issue with syncing the device to the Misfit tracker app running on android OS

The accuracy is not as good as some other trackers but it still does a good job of motivating me.

I consulted with technical team and since this bluetooth technology is used for many of Misfit tracker's functions, it's not likely to be changed in the near future

So many of my friends walk around with dead fitness trackers because they've forgotten to charge it - with this I only need to change the battery every 5-6

They responded to me within hours and after verifying my details ended up sending me a replacement device with an activity clasp that prevents you from losing the tracker in the watch band

After reading the numerous reviews and looking at other activity monitors I decided to go with the Misfit Shine as I wanted something that would integrate with my business clothing, provide accurate readings for activities, monitor my sleep cycle, and I really wanted something that was waterproof.

I find that I really do want to meet my activity goals, both for sleep as well as for physical activity

As per other reviews I feel the device is let down by the poor design/quality of the strap which I very rapidly learned not to trust as it doesn't secure the Shine safely

My only criticism is that it pops out of the wrist band and it very easy to lose (as you will see from other reviews)

I bought the so-called "Speedo" version of Shine from Misfit site directly in Sep as soon as it's available, and was highly expecting it

I was really hoping this would work out as I needed an activity tracker for the swimming pool.

I always wear it on my wrist but there is the option of wearing it as a sort of lanyard type thing as well as you can buy additional pieces to wear it as a necklace etc
