It's elegant, has perfect heft and circumference, has a great lead tip, and a wonderful eraser.

I think that the printed text on the pencil looks classy, and the eraser is soft, but does not wear down too quickly

If there's any way to make a plain old HB grade pencil better than this (perhaps an adjustable eraser like on some old Eberhard Faber pencils, or the new Palomino Blackwings?), it's not necessary to do it

I've always used the cheap #2 pencils from CVS, but hated the attached erasers

and they also have a decent eraser

Writes very smoothly, sharpens very cleanly, lead is perfectly centered, eraser works very well and lasts, pencil looks great and feels great.

Any HB pencil fits that description but nice ones with smooth wood and decent erasers usually cost twice this much
