Back rest is actually extremely uncomfortable the shape of it makes me \have to seat at an awkward almost 45 degree angle to have my back flat against the seat its like the whole seat needs to be able to come forward more

It would be a better fit if the seat cushion was pitched forward just a bit, that would help with the bad neck angle

Here is a tip to attach the back to the seat, which are pieces at very weird angles/curves: Find a box or plastic trash can about 16" high to prop the seat on

it was just the angles in which you need to screw things on that were difficult, and why a second pair of hands was helpful

Yet, when I want to sit back and read, I pull the arms down and they are at a perfect height and angle for me.

Before, in all the other chairs I have owned, I had to sit at an awkward angle and it sucked

The wheels and base are fine, the locking tilt mechanism is great to be able to pick the perfect reclining angle, and when I first got it the chair was quite comfortable.

The seat is too long tilts back at a slight uncomfortable angle

As highly regarded as they are, there is no getting past ergonomics: It did not fit us the way we needed it to fit, but they are built like an old Mercedes Benz, so they last and hold their value

disappointing as it may be it is still a good chair and worth the money!
