Semi-rough terrain separated by about a mile of trees and these can't manage to talk to eachother

I am using these outdoors in uneven terrain, out to about 400 yards.

However they do not get the kind of range you might expect if there is rough terrain around.

Make sure to use the high frequency button whenever you are dealing with uneven terrain or thick brush/trees or the reception with be pretty fuzzy.

Worked great on our cruise as well as from the boat to the multiple beaches we ventured to.

and I'm sure, as well as they've worked here at home, that they will work great for that too
