These new units are superior to the old ones in every way.

One unit seems fine but the other runs out of battery life in a couple of hours despite having a full charge overnight.

I have received RMAs for the two failed units, but was told I would not receive another because I was using the radio improperly by leaving it turned-on all day.

First off I am not sure what motorola's definition of weather proof actually means.... these are good units but do not expect them to last if they get wet

If I were to suggest some improvements for Motorola, I'd say that the ergonomics could be improved (these units don't feel as good in the hand as my old Uniden radios), and work with third party vendors to make high quality plugin headsets/mics, as the couple that I've tried thus far have been a disappointment on Motorola Talkabout radios.

These units are a bit bigger than the Motorola Talk Abouts we originally had, but they work great.
