I bought a pair of these several years ago, and I liked the fact that they were compact, and transmitted a respectable distance

Works well, has a good distance, about 3/4 a mile through the woods

Well... I used these for a recent family trip and line of sight (car to car) performance is pretty good although I didn't really test at great distances (maybe a few miles while driving) while on vacation I can tell you if you're in a building or any kind of structure, unless the other radio is within a couple of miles from you you're not going to get it

We took them to the beach and could use them to communicate if we were within sight of one another, but not from any great distance and nothing near the range capacity.

Got it for our family camping trip and it worked just as far as it said it would.

Since they were not purchased with the intention of using them a a distance greater than a mile or two this is not a problem.

tech recommended resetting them, by pulling out the battery and letting them sit for over an hour... as silly as that was, it worked and the units haven't had an issues since!i've locked the buttons so my kids don't accidentally mess around with the units.

Not recommended as it was a complete waste of money from the start.

They hold charges for a couple hours, clip on clothes easily and work as far as we need them (a few blocks radius).
