    Motorola Talkabout Radio MH230R

    • I suspect it is a buildup of fine metal dust around the speaker cone which is attracted by the magnet in the speaker (there is a lot of fine metal dust in the shop due to grinding and plasma cutting).
    • There are a lot of holes on the outside of the radio for the sound to travel out of - which I believe have let the metal dust to gather around the speaker cone thus keeping it from functioning correctly.
    • I was able to clean the metal dust away from my cell phone speaker but there is no way to access the speaker cone on these radios.

    • Got it for our family camping trip and it worked just as far as it said it would.
    • Since they were not purchased with the intention of using them a a distance greater than a mile or two this is not a problem.
    • tech recommended resetting them, by pulling out the battery and letting them sit for over an hour... as silly as that was, it worked and the units haven't had an issues since!i've locked the buttons so my kids don't accidentally mess around with the units.
    • Not recommended as it was a complete waste of money from the start.
    • They hold charges for a couple hours, clip on clothes easily and work as far as we need them (a few blocks radius).
    • For the price u can't go wrong, easy to use.
