Just don't expect to get anywhere near the rated 35 miles not even in ideal conditions

Some other versions of this talk unit ( another company)have claims of 12 to 17 miles , but I would likely put the upper range at 12 to 17 miles with the right conditions on this unit

I've had conversations in terrible conditions...thick swamp ones and hardwood trees...stil l reached almost 2 miles

And again, with line of sight and clear conditions, the range will be higher

The range is wide as stated on the pack, but a more solid estime of the 2 to 35 mile range is a solid 2 to 5 miles, with an ability to go much further with the right conditions
