If you are not regularly retightening them, your phone will eventually fall out of position during your drive.

so I regularly use the mount and have no problem reading my phone , nor fear of my phine or the mount coming detached.

The primary issue is that the sticky bottom did not stay sticky enough to hold up a phone without coming undone and falling to the floor mats.

Rather than being on the side, the button is now located on the back of the unit, at the bottom near where the 'feet' are to support the phone

It grips the phone very well and has never lost suction on the dash

I drive a lot of bumpy backroads and if the phone is secured well it will not drop

One more thing to note is that there are little "legs" at the bottom of the holder panel that flip out and allow your phone to "sit" on it as well as being secured well by the sides
