I have used the Cuisine Art coffee pot exclusively for the past dozen years, but in the back of my mind I've been itching to get a thermal coffee maker, knowing that the thermal carafes keep the coffee hot but won't keep cooking the java till it has turned to licorice or burnt oil

We saved the nice carafe, so have a back up for our new one.

after receiving it an making my 1st pot of coffee I noticed that the carafe was hot on the outside this should not be with insulated carafe called company they sent a new one which is cool to the touch as it should be

And because there is no hot plate (just a well insulated thermal carafe), the coffee tastes just as good seven hours later (no burned coffee!)

I found the water reservoir, and decided to purchase an extra carafe as well

But I am guessing these are posted by people who have never had a thermal pot and dont understand you are supposed to "pre warm" a thermal carafe with hot water for w couple of minutes before brewing--"coffee

During the weekends we go through 2 to 3 12-cup carafes each day between the two of us, so in both cases we don't have the coffee in the carafe long enough to judge how long the carafe might hold the temperature of the coffee inside because we consume it fast

My last coffee maker was a combination of a Bonavita coffee maker (terrible carafe) with a Black and Decker carafe.

Bad: The thermal carafe is not terribly efficient, and we found ourselves microwaving our cups all the time

You can't break the carafe as it is stainless steel.

In addition, I prefer this carafe for two reasons: its shape is bottom heavy to resist knock-overs, and a button must be pressed to pour coffee, meaning the pot cannot be left unsealed allowing the coffee to grow cold

My issues are that the carafe is solid - so you need to open it to check that it is empty before brewing (I have brewed a few pots with the previous day's dregs still in the carafe).I also like that you can remove the reservoir to fill it, rather than using the carafe to add water

Modern good looks, a carafe that really keeps the coffee warm for hours, fairly easy to clean all the components and most importantly, a nonexistent hot plate that eliminates the worries/bother of having to manually shut it off after every use

We really prefer this carafe, as it has a button to press to pour the coffee, rather than the clumsy practice of turning the entire top on less expensive Mr Coffee models

I have a Keurig coffee maker and as much as I love the convenience, the cost of buying k-cups daily is expensive and the coffee is not always as strong as in a coffee maker

The water reservoir is easy to clean as it comes off in a single unit to carry to the sink for a good, soapy wash.

Does not spread the water over the grains as well as it could, but not badly either.

The carafe fits snug into the housing, and prevents as good as it can to prevent any heat loss for the coffee dripping into it

The lid of the carafe could use some revamping to make it easier to clean as I have concerns about what could grow in it over

Being in a caraffe it does not burn and you can even heat the coffee up in the microwave and its as good as it was when first brewed.

This coffee seems just as good as with our slower machine, so they must have something with their claim to have hit the right temperature for the brew to enable them to do it faster
