Muse Auto (2nd Gen): Alexa-Enabled Voice Assistant for Cars with Hands-Free Music, Audiobooks, Navigation and 2-Port USB Car Charger

    • Alexa skills are fine, but if you decide to work though skills and not native apps, you still need a given skill to have all the functionality of a given app for it to be useful (e.g. not being able to increase play speed on Stitcher when using this through Alexa)I do see great promise in moving Alexa to the car and had a lot of fun demoing the product, so this one nets 3 stars.
    • Easy to set upConnects quicklySimple deviceSmall unobtrusiveAlexa is smarter than SiriCan accept or reject phone calls by hitting the Mic buttonCONS:You need to install a separate, Muse app; doesn't work through your existing Alexa appNeeds pristine internet connection to function (not always possible on the go)Microphones often don't 'hear' well when the ambient noise level is highMuse deviceWorks through Alexa skills NOT through you native phone appsNo access to your iPhone's contacts/does not make phone callsNo ability to launch apps other than your selected map app or the phone app for making callsActivation of the Muse app or using Alexa, stops any non-Alexa activity on your phone; in order to restart a non-Alexa podcast or music, you have to open it manually or by using SiriINTRO/OVERVIEWAfter driving around with Muse Auto (2nd Gen) for a few weeks, I've determined that it's still not quite ready for Prime time.
    • I use Alexa at home and when I go off, I have her keep the dogs calm as they listen to orchestra music
