It doesn't make my vocals sound better (it's not magic), and I'm still learning how to use it properly, but I'm very happy with this microphone, especially for the price.
I keep my mic in there now and ever since it has worked great, perfect sound
The mic sounded "thin" with vocals and it really didn't like the thump of a nearby upright bass... resulting in a low frequency hum that I finally was able to eq out... to the disadvantage of the vocals
The sound of the mic is great but after a few times of recording the mic didn't work anymore
This is the perfect entry level mic for studio recording, the sound is crisp and clear.
This mic is a fantastic product for novice, or professionals alike
and when i turn on the switch it is noise free, great product for the price.
The MXL 770 (this product) is just far worse than the MXL-V67I, I am mostly writing this review to highly recommend you save up a little more cash and get the MXL-V67I instead -- even though it crapped out on me after a couple years

So far this mic has exceeded the expectations I had for it for the price!This is a really great mic that comes with a nice little accessories bundle including the shock mount, a nice hard case for both and some great resources and manuals to learn how to use it and get the most out of it.

you can get that comes with a shock mount and a case that sounds better than it costs
For the money, this mic is totally worth it; and someday when money isn't an issue, I'll definitely keep this on hand for drum overheads and acoustic/vocal work.
now feel i even wasted my money on this expensive tube mic
So now I am left with the damaged mic and can't even reclaim my money back
Its not a U87 but for the the money its better then most I've used at 2 and 3 times the price.
