    MXR M116 Fullbore Metal Distortion

    • Its razor sharp tones cut, its very responsive and the noisegate and scoop buttons are topnotch.
    • this unit covers it all with killer flippen tone!!!!
    • good tone but dicey controls
    • but compared to my amp distortion (blackstar ht-20 pushed by a digitech overdrive) it just doesn't have a powerful or realistic tone
    • But all in all this thing tears it up in terms of pure shredding tone.
    • I use some noise filters, but if you set this up in the correct order in your pedal chain, and don't feed an (already) noisy amp (into a dirt channel), it produces some cool tones
    • good tone
    • It takes a lot of fiddling to dial in a good tone and thats with the gain knob cranked down around 3
    • All the metal tone that you can handle with great tone controls
    • I get my best tones with my Les Paul Custom.
    • It WILL produce that solid, almost synthetic tone reminiscent of TSO or many other metal bands.
    • If you're like me, you most likely don't have any interest in "dirty" tones
    • One star off for price, a bit high for lack of useable tones, and one star off for just that, lack of useable tones.
