The mount is kinda weak, and even though I've been using it at least 3 times a week for about 5
-
Mount is solid
-
This is a great DSLR mount/tripod light for the $31 price tag
-
The mount is a little weak for heavy so use some care since the light is bulky and the batteries about double its weight
-
The unit could be more robust in its construction as the adjustable mount tightening knob failed after three years of field use
-
The mount is a little unstable and it often can flop down if not tightened properly
-
Rheostat is not very smooth, and the mount is cheap, but the light is VERY light and not likely to cause the cheaper mount much trouble
-
I don't like the flimsy plastic mount and will be building a custom aluminum gopro style mount
-
With a better cold shoe mount it's five stars all the way around
-
This is a great addition to my purchase and allows for greater mounting options and uses.
-
Fully loaded with batteries the light gets a bit of weight to it, so just be weary on using flimsy stands or mounts.
-
Works on camera or mounted on tripod which is really nice.
-
Even sudden jerks around with my camera or rig would untighten the mounting and have the lamp fall forward or back
-
As far as mounting is concerned, you can choose to mount it onto the hot shoe mount on your camera or on a light stand or tripod
-
She uses hers mostly for self portraits while mine is mostly used for macro because the rotatable mounting, works great for both!
-
Drains batteries and mount could be a little
-
The first event I shot with it, the light fell out of the hot shoe mount 4 times and hit the ground--you don't want to over tighten because it's cheap plastic
-
Just needs to cut the plastic mount and change it to metal that mount will break eventually.
