It will not fit in my cold shoe.

Only downside is if there's a mic on your camera, you'll have to find a new place to hold the light, because it only is meant for mounting in the hot shoe.

As far as mounting is concerned, you can choose to mount it onto the hot shoe mount on your camera or on a light stand or tripod

I attached this to a cold shoe mount and it becomes extremely efficient

The only drawback I found was the cold shoe mount which I had to adjust several times in order to hold the light securely.

The only thing that I do not like about this light is the tightening screw that it has for the hot shoe mount
