Nespresso VertuoLine Coffee and Espresso Maker with Aeroccino Plus Milk Frother, Black (Discontinued Model)

    • Unfortunately, "regular" coffee, to me, tastes like hot water.
    • Heating up cup w/hot water prior to making the coffee worked well to bring beverage to the temperature we wanted.
    • Cons:Machine is very big and noisy (that jet engine sound at 7am is not pleasant to my ears)No way to run hot water thru machine to prime and also warm your
    • I would stick to an espresso only machine with a hot water function if purchasing a Nespresso.
    • The espresso pods cost about 25% less than the larger coffee pods, and since I mostly drink Americanos, I just add use my insta-hot water to the espresso and it is wonderful
    • Also, you cannot run this machine without capsule to produce hot water.. to make Americano with a smaller espresso capsule.
    • So anyone purchasing , I suggest that you do the hot water for a few hours as soon as you open your box!!!!!
    • We trouble shooted for almost 30 minutes....finally she told me it most probably had an air bubble and the last resort was to fill the reservoir with hot tap water and let it sit in the machine for an hour.
    • The water is lukewarm
    • Ok Day 1 - I might even add another review later, unboxed, came with milk frother as separate unit and a 12 pack of sample coffees - 8 coffee, 4 espresso - startup was super easy, add water, click the on buttons 3 times to cycle the clean water through, add espresso pod (decaf) because it was at night and voila easy breezy, milk brother was even easier, add milk, put on power pad click once and 90 seconds hot froth milk, need a plastic spatula to get the rest of the froth out, wife was IMPRESSED, and we replaced a Saeco unit that after 5 years finally dieddefinitely impressed but its only day one
    • As many other reviewers pointed out, the water is not hot
    • (I prefer the rich espresso and lungo sized cups it makes), and simply add hot water to make a larger cup
    • What I did not realize, and what I do not think is made clear is that it will brew all the coffees, no matter the flavor or barcode, at that water level - which lead to some shocking wake up cups, let me tell you
    • The women was very helpful and instructed me to take the wisk out and fill the unit with cold water three times
    • Ease of use: fill the water, put the capsule in, one touch, your tasty coffee is waiting for you in a minute.3
    • Seems like it does not heat up the water enough
    • I discovered this morning that it won't even make a cup of hot water for me to make tea or hot chocolate--because heaven
    • Love it, only problem is that the water is not warm enough.
    • I advice if you buy this to preheat your cup with hot water.
    • The hot water has to be able to 'swirl' around inside the capsule, and it can't if the capsule is not a perfect circle anymore
    • but I told her that Natalie promised to call me back, and the last troubleshooting we did was to fill the machine with hot water, blah, blah, blah.....anyway, this women had nothing to say to help me
    • Relative to those original machines (with the little capsules of coffee and high pressure pump mechanisms), this machine uses a brand new technology to make both espresso sized and large (Americano) sized coffees, using barcode technology which reads the type of disk it is (espresso or americano) and then rapidly spins the disk, shooting hot water through a spinning coffee disk
    • This model cannot dispense hot water only...for anyone interested in making americanos this is pretty important.
    • Customer service advises I fill my mug with hot water first to warm it up
    • Usually crema is an emulsion produced by emulsifying the oils/soluble solids in the coffee grounds as hot water is FORCED through the coffer under a specified pressure.
    • When I was using original line, I let the water run for about half of the volume of espresso to clean the water conduit, but it is impossible in the VertuoLine machine
    • The only way I can get it drinkable is putting in hot water in from my instant hot water heater, which is probably 170 degrees or so
    • I usually have to put a cut of hot water in the micro for 2 min., pour the water out and do my cup of coffee.
    • She said it was very common that these machines have air bubbles, and yes, filling it up with hot water and letting the machine sit for a few hours, does help!
    • Usually crema is an emulsion produced by emulsifying the oils/soluble solids in the coffee grounds as hot water is FORCED through the coffer under a specified pressure.
    • This is not a coffee machine that brews hot water to get the flavor out of the beans
    • IMO.The machine itself worked flawlessly, it is super quiet and has a large reservoir for the water (which you can pour out and refill with fresh water unlike the kurig sea monkey water that sits around for who knows how long)
    • I rinsed my cup with hot water and the tank I also filled it up with warm water
    • What I did was to take a used capsule and cut the foil top off then clean out the coffee grounds and I use this in the machine to basically just run "hot" water through it into my cup.
    • Like some of the other reviewers the coffee did not seem to be very hot once I got it into my travel mug, but the instruction manual says to heat your cup with some hot tap water first and that resolved the issue entirely
    • The machine was compact yet held enough water for several cups
    • I found that bigger capsules do no taste as good and was disappointed that there was no hot water function.
    • I typically add a few ounces of hot water from my Keurig after brewing a Nespresso.
    • Put hot water from tap in mug and keep it there for 2-3 mins6) froth is excellent - no brainer , seperate milk and froth by spoon ..7) if you want sweet coffee
    • Usually crema is an emulsion produced by emulsifying the oils/soluble solids in the coffee grounds as hot water is FORCED through the coffer under a specified pressure.
    • Eventually the kind gentleman asked me to fill the water container with hot water, leave it for an hour and try again and if it didn't work to return it to Amazon
    • What it does is runs luck warm water through a capsule
    • It could not create hot water
    • I clean the Aeroccino right after use with hot water, then wipe clean with a paper towel and have had no trouble (that some others have had) with any flaking of the nonstick coating.
    • The coffee comes out at great temperature for me (I do run hot water over the cup
    • It is self cleaning and has a sufficient water tank and pod disposal capacity
    • We fill up our mugs with hot water to warm it up first (which we did with the kureg) and than dump it out before filling
    • The instructions in the book tell you to pre-heat your cup with hot water if you want piping hot coffee, but I don't want a coffee maker that requires me to do extra work to heat up the coffee.
    • It doesn't make tea or hot water if you are a fan of that, but its coffee is easily 10 times better than the other guys!
    • One stated that this is how the machine is made, and another suggested I preheat my cup as well as add boiling water to the coffee once made.
    • If I could give this 3.5 I would, but I rounded up because I'm really happy with Nespresso as a
    • I used to work as a
    • It works exactly as I expected it to
    • So disappointed as I had heard good things about Nespresso as a brand.
    • The coffee was still lukewarm as it was filling up my cup.
    • Love the machine e and the coffee.
