One of the best features is that it doesn't store the videos and alerts locally, but on their server so if somebody sees it and rips it down, their handsome face is already off-site

The two-way sound is a nice feature as well (I caught my wife by surprise when I talked to her through the camera.

Their software is feature rich albeit requiring a little more refinement on UI (fonts are too small, non-uniform color schemes, etc).

All the features you'd likely be interested in are only available with the subscription service.

I did a lot of research and realized the Nest Cam was the best bang for the buck and also the best quality and better featured item.

I am not asking for continuous recording or other great features

Additionally other features such as notifications, zoom, clips, etc. were unexpected and greatly enhance the use of the product.

I did not give 5 stars because I would have preferred more color choices and the sound feature for talking and hearing through the device is less than ideal.

Super disappointing and now I’ve wasted all this money because they were supposed to be compatible and I could have gotten way better cameras with better features if I would have known I wouldn’t be able to sync everything anyways.

Another nice feature are the notification settings where the user can elect the sensitivity of notification event and can elect to be notified via email of any occurrence detected by the cameras

This is troubling since a false positive makes me disregard alerts (and makes it annoying) rendering the "smart" features useless

I expect that, and other cool features to be added to the"aware" cloud recording service in time

More importantly they work great and have a lot of very useful features which are easy to set up, especially compared to other types of outdoor security cameras

But both of these are very important features, lacking in the nest cameras

its not 100% wireless like the Arlo 2 to watch vids more than 3 hrs in the past and to access most of the great features you have to subscribe to their monthly service, but i honestly think that isnt a big deal because it is very reasonably priced

It also has a nice alert feature for your phone or ipad which alerts you of movement

I love its 2-way communication feature, but the speaker & microphone need some improvement

The features are rich and powerful, although you have to pay a pretty hefty monthly fee to take full advantage of its capabilities.

When all features are available (read: you pay the monthly fee for Nest Aware), I think these are likely the best cameras on the market

The quality is great, and I love the features for these cameras.

These cameras have a very nice feature of a microphone and speaker that allows one to listen or to speak in a zone.

The annoying feature is the subscription required to view anything other than live coverage

The cameras even alert you specifically to PEOPLE TALKING which is a pretty cool feature.

The picture quality is great with the night feature as well.

I have no need to record while I am home so this is a smart feature

Love the people detection feature, where you can set alerts for when humans enter the picture, but I wish you could set it only for people detected in one zone as opposed to any seen on camera

Nest products are great, but I do wish you did not have to pay the subscription to get the nice features that it includes.

The installation was easy and the quality of the camera is awesome, very clear in the day as well as in the night.

We bought this camera to view when our son makes it home from school, and to keep an eye on packages as well as when people come up our driveway

The zones alert when someone or thing are outside the zone parameters, as well as when movement is detected within zone parameters

First off, the camera video quality is very good in daylight as well as in darkened conditions.

We have a busy street in front of our house and the Ring Wireless Camera we tried first simply didn't work as it was constantly sending notifications every time a car went by.

Alerts work as they are advertised, camera helps with packages coming to the door or people coming over if they don’t knock on the door hard

this doesn’t bother me as that is what the cameras

The only thing that I worry about is that it is easy to steal as it is a magnetic housing.
