Nest Security Camera, Keep An Eye On What Matters to You, From Anywhere, For Outdoor Use, Works with Alexa

    • However, they are costly and do require a monthly fee to include storage of video footage, ability to review ANY past footage (even 1 minute ago), and to access all the valuable features
    • One of the best features is that it doesn't store the videos and alerts locally, but on their server so if somebody sees it and rips it down, their handsome face is already off-site
    • The microphone feature is very poor
    • The speaker was a nice feature on this device that I thought worked really well.
    • Powerful features.
    • They did this on purpose hoping you would prefer the time lapse feature.
    • Two way sound (arlo 1 didn't have any sound support either way)No having to deal with batteries/taking it down and trying to get the placement right every few monthsMuch better app experience, if you have an android tv/apple tv device, they have a nice app to view on the TVLoad time is significantly faster to go to live feedAbility to set up "zones" for activityNo lag time from motion to recording (it's 24/7 in either case), the arlo 1 would miss a ton of stuff due to lag from detection to recording, sometimes missing action altogether and not recording anythingWay less false alarms during daytime, night vision picks up car headlights as activity it seems, which is a little annoying but not terribleNight vision seems better, as well as the viewing angle, although that perception may be skewed due to different placementCan make custom clips of any of your 24/7 footage, w/ really cool timelapse feature when making longer clipsPush notifications with categorization of "person" or just activity (cars/animals) in your zones
    • From day 1 the software was intuitive, feature rich and continues to improve
    • The picture is incredible and the features are amazing
    • Great features.
    • Some features are only available with an annual cloud subscription - which currently starts at $99 year.
    • Great camera and awesome features, well worth the money.
    • Great camera and awesome features, well worth the money.
    • The app is designed well, and the camera has a lot of great features.
    • The two-way sound is a nice feature as well (I caught my wife by surprise when I talked to her through the camera.
    • Their software is feature rich albeit requiring a little more refinement on UI (fonts are too small, non-uniform color schemes, etc).
    • All the features you'd likely be interested in are only available with the subscription service.
    • I did a lot of research and realized the Nest Cam was the best bang for the buck and also the best quality and better featured item.
    • I am not asking for continuous recording or other great features
    • Additionally other features such as notifications, zoom, clips, etc. were unexpected and greatly enhance the use of the product.
    • I did not give 5 stars because I would have preferred more color choices and the sound feature for talking and hearing through the device is less than ideal.
    • Super disappointing and now I’ve wasted all this money because they were supposed to be compatible and I could have gotten way better cameras with better features if I would have known I wouldn’t be able to sync everything anyways.
    • Another nice feature are the notification settings where the user can elect the sensitivity of notification event and can elect to be notified via email of any occurrence detected by the cameras
    • All the fancy features do not work without said subscription AND you only get to look back for 3 hours of recordings.
    • This is troubling since a false positive makes me disregard alerts (and makes it annoying) rendering the "smart" features useless
    • I expect that, and other cool features to be added to the"aware" cloud recording service in time
    • More importantly they work great and have a lot of very useful features which are easy to set up, especially compared to other types of outdoor security cameras
    • But both of these are very important features, lacking in the nest cameras
    • Otherwise the features are great.
    • All good features are taken off gradually
    • its not 100% wireless like the Arlo 2 to watch vids more than 3 hrs in the past and to access most of the great features you have to subscribe to their monthly service, but i honestly think that isnt a big deal because it is very reasonably priced
    • It also has a nice alert feature for your phone or ipad which alerts you of movement
    • I love its 2-way communication feature, but the speaker & microphone need some improvement
    • flawless.-The features are great with zones that accurately know when to record and many options for playback.-The audio is plenty loud and the viewing angle is wide
    • The features are rich and powerful, although you have to pay a pretty hefty monthly fee to take full advantage of its capabilities.
    • When all features are available (read: you pay the monthly fee for Nest Aware), I think these are likely the best cameras on the market
    • High quality imaging and nice software features.
    • Has enough features to be useful, but not excessive that boosts the price.
    • Software/app is easy to use and has good features: person alerts, email and app alerts, predefined clips of activity on a timeline, ability to download footage, 2 way sound, and live footage view
    • The quality is great, and I love the features for these cameras.
    • Every day I take a minute to check on my dogs at home, the Vermont house, and I appreciate the features that allow me to narrow the areas in which activity will send me an email
    • Great security feature
    • Plus, the 2 way mic feature is solid!I'm looking forward to many years of nest products in my life!
    • You get some decent features for the money but honestly, you don't have to use the subscription to have some great benefit
    • These cameras have a very nice feature of a microphone and speaker that allows one to listen or to speak in a zone.
    • There are a lot of good security cameras out there, all with so many great features
    • All the fancy features do not work without said subscription AND you only get to look back for 3 hours of recordings.
    • Easy to configure with great features such as zones and messages when activity in those zones is picked up.
    • The feature that allows you to talk to the person is slow and difficult to use.
    • It’s a very nice camera with great features but……..1
    • The magnetic feature is awesome!
    • The annoying feature is the subscription required to view anything other than live coverage
    • However if you decide to use the “free” features it is useless
    • Excellent product and features.
    • The cameras even alert you specifically to PEOPLE TALKING which is a pretty cool feature.
    • The picture quality is great with the night feature as well.
    • The speaker and microphone are also great features
    • All in all, a good camera with useful features.
    • I have no need to record while I am home so this is a smart feature
    • Love the people detection feature, where you can set alerts for when humans enter the picture, but I wish you could set it only for people detected in one zone as opposed to any seen on camera
    • Nest products are great, but I do wish you did not have to pay the subscription to get the nice features that it includes.
    • Love the camera and features it has
    • Easy setup, great features
    • It's got great features
    • I loved the Nest Aware features, but wish that I researched other cameras first
    • The best feature, which I think is downplayed a lot, is that it records 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
    • Plus you lose all the cool features.
    • I'll update this review when the two critical features are added
    • The alert feature works well
    • But really, the features are great
    • We love the microphone feature too!
    • I really loved these features and am disappointed that the current standard in wifi security cameras is subscription based cloud storage and no local storage options
    • Nice features
    • Great features, such as the online view.
    • All the good features like person alerts and video history comes with storage plans starting at $10 per month2
    • Great camera and feature set but wish it had the capability to use your own dvr setup.
    • Video quality is incredible and the wide angle is a nice feature
    • Plus you lose all the cool features.
    • There are many cool features, we probably haven't used them all.
    • My favorite feature is being able to save clips that I find valuable or completely funny
    • The reason I'll give this a 2star is because all the good features got turned off once trial period ended
    • The Nest app lacks these features
    • Cool features
    • The installation was easy and the quality of the camera is awesome, very clear in the day as well as in the night.
    • We bought this camera to view when our son makes it home from school, and to keep an eye on packages as well as when people come up our driveway
    • The zones alert when someone or thing are outside the zone parameters, as well as when movement is detected within zone parameters
    • First off, the camera video quality is very good in daylight as well as in darkened conditions.
    • We have a busy street in front of our house and the Ring Wireless Camera we tried first simply didn't work as it was constantly sending notifications every time a car went by.
    • Alerts work as they are advertised, camera helps with packages coming to the door or people coming over if they don’t knock on the door hard
    • this doesn’t bother me as that is what the cameras
    • The only thing that I worry about is that it is easy to steal as it is a magnetic housing.
    • but it's not exactly as sharp as you'd
