I will say this - the camera is good quality and was easy to setup
The cord does limit where you can install the camera but the quality of the picture is clear and the alerts for activity or people sighting is nice to have.
Easy install, great video quality, night vision is unbelievable.

I have 4 of these cameras going when my car was stolen, but I didn’t know about the extra money this crappy company wanted,
So, I am left with these useless cameras, no time lapse, notifications are hit or miss, no more video recordings

The installation was easy and the quality of the camera is awesome, very clear in the day as well as in the night.
I bought this camera to compliment my network security cameras and liked that it used the same app as my Nest thermostat (which I love), but after numerous attempts to get it to connect to my wifi and two hours of Nest Tech support, the issue remained unresolved and I requested a return and refund.
I have been through multiple support sessions over several weeks and the issue was elevated to engineering but still doesn't work.
From here, Nest basically ignored the issue, and a quick search reveals this is NOT an uncommon problem.
While we enjoy the ability to monitor the house while we are out, the issue of video lag is getting worse every month

App syncs with cameras very quick, the image quality is very good, the night vision mode was not ON but even without the night vision I could see everything around my house (good job Nest)I would recommend Nest camera to everyone if not the thick power wires behind the camera.
I went from a hard wired camera setup using the geovision dvr card

It's the 2018 when small and thin wires are not just sexy but also practical
Great packaging & easy set up although I seem to get some false positives but overall great product
What Nest forgets to mention is that 1080 p is Available only when the WiFi Signal is very strong ( Modem in the Basement Camera on the 2nd Floor 1080p is Gone)
App works great on my phone and laptop, and alerts have been very consistent, with minimal false-positives.
This is troubling since a false positive makes me disregard alerts (and makes it annoying) rendering the "smart" features useless
I do get a few false positives from random birds, squirrels, my dog, etc.
The cost of subscription is high, but it will still be years of use before it rivals price of a similar quality hard drive-based security system
You can also bypass the cloud subscription and get the Blue Iris software dor your PC and get subscription free security monitoring recirded to your PC's hard drive.
It's easy enough to download something to my computer if I see something I want to save on my hard drive
If I would have known this, I would have bought a camera system that includes a hard drive- no subscription and would have paid for itself in 5 years compared to a nest aware subscription.
I do like the fact of not having to deal with a hard drive system, because you always can rely on your data being there with no worries of break down or theft.
