The only thing I'd like Nest to do differently is to offer a longer power cord.

Compared to the Ring and Wyze Cameras (only $29 and $39) the Nest is Trash.

I bought this camera to compliment my network security cameras and liked that it used the same app as my Nest thermostat (which I love), but after numerous attempts to get it to connect to my wifi and two hours of Nest Tech support, the issue remained unresolved and I requested a return and refund.

From here, Nest basically ignored the issue, and a quick search reveals this is NOT an uncommon problem.

I contacted Nest to complain about this and ask to return the cameras for a refund because I am very dissatisfied with them.

If Nest could improve I would say get rid of the cord... kind of limits where you can put it and so much extra work

I have used Ring camera too, which is excellent as a doorbell replacement but Ring doesn't have security software as good as Nest

But perhaps the most unwelcome surprise was that after the free Nest Aware subscription expired, I get this annoying advertisement along the bottom of my computer.

Nest's biggest advantage there is that it calls home and tunnels through the facility firewall/router without requiring anything of the network admin

This tells me that Nest is massively incompetent at managing its communications and records in addition to its so-called "customer support

performance is excellent - Nest does an outstanding job, very reminiscent of Apple products as far a well thought through instructions, design and packaging.

When they never called me back I requested a free nest protect due to my original being defective and their inaction to listen to the phone call I requested

I had another camera in its spot but the Nest is struggling with wifi coverage and video quality

Nest will undoubtedly fix these issues or not sell a lot of these cameras and when they do they should offer a decent trade in for these clunkers.

As a result even if the person at the door can hear & understand you through the terrible Nest cam speakers (50/50 chance at best), their response will be cut off because they are talking while the system is still in the process of switching back to listening mode.

Nest also works with Alexa much better than Ring
