The 24-port switch has some very loud fans... even louder if one is a bit out of balance
-
The fan is a bit noisy but my panel is in the washing machine room so it's not a big deal
-
Fan is a little noisy.

Works great, fan is variable

I don't mean in terms of air flow, but the fan itself sounds like it's grinding a little bit.

The fan on this switch is loud and makes a rhythmic noise.

While Netgear may have solved the fan noise problems with this switch (it was very quiet) when I installed the switch I was irritated to find a major bug in the switch.
-
The fan is much quieter than the one in my TP-LINK switch
-
Biggest drawback is the fan.
-
The Fan is Super Noisy
-
I havent noticed any loud fan noises coming from the switch, like some other reviewers noted
-
If you are handy person and don't mind voiding the warrantee the noise can be reduced to a bearable level by isolating the fans from the chassis with some thin rubber

Fan is loud, or it would get 5 stars

The fan is consistently loud and does not sound "even" which makes it a bit annoying

But there was no assurance at all that it would not be just as bad (in fact, I was essentially told it would be the same), so why give my plastic over the phone to someone at a distant call center who had never actually seen the product?I told them that I'll find a quiet fan and replace it myself if they can't do better than that

quiet fan, solid construction.... feels great

BEWARE OF FAN NOISE!I purchased this based on questions answered that the fan was inaudible

-
It did have the same issue but nowhere near as badly, with a sharp buzzing sound on top of the airflow noise itself (that part is fine and very quiet). The fan that is making the noise is a single EFB0412MD, and is 40x40x20mm
-
I bought a suitable fan, but the new unit has been so much better than the original one that I have not seen the need to do the replacement

I immediately noticed how extremely loud the fan was.
