    NETGEAR Nighthawk 4-Stream AX4 Wifi 6 Router (RAX40) – AX3000 Wireless Speed (Up to 3 Gbps) | 1,500 sq. ft. Coverage

    • Where you run into trouble is that there is a fairly well documented issue with this router failing during firmware updates
    • Also working tirelessly with my modems company it was again concluded that the issue is originating and isolated to my router
    • I thought "screw it" and returned for a "fresh" one from Amazon with no issues (thank goodness for Amazon)
    • Had my ISP out to figure out why my internet wasn't as fast as it should be and they isolated the issue to the new router.
    • Also the previous one (RT 7500) had intermittent issues such as cutting out too often and needing a power recycle
    • By far the most annoying issue
    • Been working this issue for 6 weeks....
    • Without getting into the details, they blame the issue on the modem instead of the router and will not accept returns or replacement
    • Netgear support was OK - long hold times (due to Covid) coupled with disconnects forcing me back into the queue exacerbated the issue, and having to pay for shipping on a defective product within the warranty period is just unprofessional, let alone to have that second unit died in under a week
    • It seems like a lot of people are having the same issue and NETGEAR has not done anything to fix the problem
    • Regardless of this I highly recommend this router for anyone who plans to upgrade their home with multiple smart devices and doesn't want to worry about slow down or latency issues when telling Alexa to turn your lights on or change the TV channel
    • I had to factory reset the router several times and update firmware to try to rectify connectivity issues, but problems continued to persist
    • Now obviously it's not perfect, the main issue I have with this new design is the wings
    • Netgear refuses to recognise issues, though myriad complaints globally calling out same issues
    • My issues are the bugs when configuring it
    • I had really bad issues with this router when it came to data prioritization
    • These issues are ridiculous for a $400 router!!
    • And, the app cannot connect to the router, the interface is not as good as the google’s
