Consistently, while located in the exact same spot, the hotspot on my phone works better (faster speeds, lower latency, and less jitter) than these hotspots.

If you can live with AT&T's network quality (which, IMHO, is still way better than T-Mo's and Sprint's, but I don't know about VZW's), this gives you mobile data at decent speeds.

You can also set it to charge from the computer over the USB (in the settings you can change from network USB to power USB when plugged into a computer).The device supports dual band (5GHz) for faster speeds, but enabling this will drain the batter faster.

The AT&T service is really fast and has great down/upload speeds.

As someone who pays for his own mobile data, I sure wish there had been an affordable plan, or maybe something like AT&T's competitor that offers throttled speeds after you hit your monthly allowance

It has very fast speeds however it is package in a capsule of early 2000 technology.

This being an outated model by then, I did find an inexpensive 3rd party battery and the hotspot is still my primary internet connection at home, giving me reasonably fast speeds and good reliability.

While that is definitely an issue for me, the hotspot still works as advertised, provides well over ten hours of battery life under continuous use, and provides a strong connection speed with as few as two bars of LTE signal.
