The device works very poorly.

This device is amazing.

The net is that even with its few glitches, this is a very capable device, significantly improving the performance of my wireless network.

Joining remote wired printers and computers as well aswireless devices to Secure Network across the street as well.

This device has the same issue that apparently has existed since it's debut in 2015

There's also a new feature to turn off the netgear LED logo, but the setting doesnt keep with reboots even though the menu option stays the same (turn it off, LED goes off, restart the device, LED back on but in the menu it says off, this is fixed by turning it on and then off again)

If you house has too many obstacles for the signal to reach the portable devices this will do the trick

I'm sure for the average user, this is a perfectly fine device

All our devices work great with this and the internet quality and speed has been increased by double

The device obviously has the capability, I really don't know why I had to resort to FastLane mode for good performance.

But if you have a smart device, it should log onto the strongest saved signal automatically.

The device is small and out of the way and improves WiFi reach at my house.

I've tried to find firmware replacements and just can't get this device to work well in my specialized environment.

Seems to be a bit finicky with some devices plugged in to Ethernet ports, sometimes works great and other times internet connection is lost, well, device says it is there but will not connect until the Extrender is rebooted

This device worked great for 11 months and then the unit would power off

I consider my self reasonably knowledgeable in setting up this type of device but this is not a market ready device.

It would be nice if it was a little smaller, but I would 100% recommend this device to anybody who needs a Wi-Fi range extender.

then i called support and after an hour I found out the device is defective

and then i would recommend selecting "Device-to-extender in 2.4GHz only and extender-to-router in 5GHz only (Router must support 5GHz band)"

This is also the easiest device I've ever set up in my life, I'm very tech

Extender performance in terms of both speed and signal strength/distance are very good, but the device incompatibility, incompetent technical support and complex configuration/upgrade process made the experience a living hell.

The device allows you to disable the extending/ repeating features and allows any device hooked up via Ethernet to use the AC connection

It is a beautiful looking device

On the down side this does not always provide the strongest signal and my devices seem to lose their connections more easily than before.

If you nee to extend the wireless and have no wired option this is a really good device to get.

Easy setup, less than 5 minutes and connecting devices is no problem.

The AC1200 is a sleek looking device.

The installation is simple and the device is easy to configure.

these devices have a shelf life (e.g. working in my house for 6-7 years) what makes me think you are going to keep updating your software that long to work the next version of windows

After the extender installation I found that I was able to use various portable devices such as an Internet radio and laptop in parts of the house where I had previously not had any connectivity.

Great device and easy to install.

I would recommend this device.

The Netgear AC1200 remains connected and have not had a problem connecting 7 devices to it;. Set up to my existing modem was easy just used the WPS button and it configured within a minute or you can manually set up the Netgear AC1200
