    NETGEAR WiFi AC1200 Range Extender (EX6200)

    • It is very frustrating that a "new" and out of the box product would be nearly impossible to configure without soliciting the assistance of tech support
    • Call GearHead, paid $49.99 to talked to tech support about an issue with their product still under warranty.
    • Then, after reconnecting with Tech Support, I downloaded the firmware update
    • I spent several hours on chat with Netgear tech support trying to get my western digital usb drive to show up in Windows Explorer, with the drive connected to the usb port on the ac1200/ex6200
    • Long story short, I have logged probably close to 10 hours now on the phone with Tech Support (all of which is in India).
    • I emailed Netgear tech support and got a prompt reply explaining the unit only carried 90 days of free tech
    • Not at all please with the performance of the ex6200 or the tech support I got from Netgear.
    • I called NETGEAR's overseas call centers for tech support.
    • The problem with tech support was they always wanted to reboot the ex6200 which would then make everything work again
    • I didn't know this at first since it's not mentioned at all in the manual and even the useless tech support person was unaware of it
    • Spent an hour on the phone with tech support.
    • I spent almost an hour with Netgear Tech Support trying to get this thing to work properly
    • So I will leave my rating the same although I still was not impressed with Netgear tech support so if that is one of your concerns take that into
    • Their tech support just told me that I had to pay for extended warranty so they could troubleshoot the extender

    • Contacted tech support (multiple times) and yes there was a slight language barrier
    • She began by telling me that I had a 1 yr warranty and 90 days of "free" tech support.
    • I would also comment on Netgear's poor tech support
    • After about 1/2hr, a tech support person answered.
    • Netgear Tech support helped trouble shooting, changing channels, factory reset, updating firmware using another cord etc
    • A lot of websites become blocked or don't respond giving off a "DNS error".NETGEAR Tech support for this product is flat out terrible, I was continuously put on hold and eventually hung up
    • Call tech support only if you have time to waste.
    • With my first statement of my problem, I was told that I would be called by a Netgear Tech Support person.
    • The tech support guy wanted to know the seriel # for the extender and nowhere on the box is there a number or on the directions, only the model
    • I shouldn't have to pay for tech support with one month left on the 1 year warranty
