NETGEAR WiFi AC1200 Range Extender (EX6200)

    • But this Netgear unit really is surpassing my expectations...sits in my bedroom dressing room, about 50 ft from primary ATT Uverse router.
    • It's located about 60 feet from the router (a Netgear Nighthawk, also a very good unit) and has several walls between it and the router.
    • New unit arrived and is working perfectly as expected, they have improved the interface a bit since I did not have to tell it to update the Firmware (which was the source of some initial minor problems in the first unit) and it did it automatically as part of the installation, hopefully I can get about 3 years or more 24/7/365 service from this one
    • what a great unit
    • After downloading and initiating the install process the unit locked up and refused to reboot without a hard power reset.
    • Great unit
    • Had to replace a faulty unit
    • but I also have an e-mail from Amazon customer service telling me I do not need to return the bad unit
    • Awesome...now have reception throughout the house and yard... love this unit
    • Overall I have to say the Netgear AC1200 Dual Band Range Extender EX6200 is a very nice unit
    • Unit may work as a range extender but keeps rebooting when running traffic on the Ethernet ports.
    • And the company gave me problem replacing the unit and sending out a new one quickly
    • Its a splendid unit.
    • Last week the unit completely failed with the 2GHZ channel completely disappearing, and the 5GHZ will not connect after numerous resets to default
    • The unit works well
    • The unit provided no benefit in range or throughput versus just using the R7000, e.g. the R7000 was twice the distance from the laptop and iOS clients as the EX6200 and the R7000 still had a stronger signal and higher throughput.
    • Great unit!
    • The unit works pretty well, much better than what we were using before.
    • We have tried several units to extend the signal and either returned them due to poor performance or the units failed over time.
    • In Less then 6 months the unit stopped work
    • I know the guy was just reading his check list but he never understood the unit had worked and now no longer did.
    • This unit works great, can't tell the difference between connecting to this or connecting directly to the DSL Modem... works great!!
    • They are sending me a Ex7000 and if you read the reviews it appears this unit has the same issue as the
    • It works ok, ONLY after a expert IT person I paid ,, got it to work,, good luck as a amateur getting it to work,, I hard wired it to a cable for upstairs router to basement,, make sure all tVs downstairs have current update,, this is NOT a plug and play unit,, make sure a IT friend helps you!!!
    • Unit seemed to work initially but very sporadic thereafter.
    • After only a few days my unit kept dropping out internet but only to the hardwired ports.wireless always worked fine
    • BUT after I cooled off a bit I had to admit that for 2 years 8 months of 24/7/365 operation with really no problems I still like this unit and will most likely get another one of these rather than spend the extra $30 for the EX7000 but not sure about that yet.
    • The light has never turned green and I suspect that I was sold a defective unit
    • Good unit
    • They recommended this unit.
    • You will need your network key (network access code). So far the unit itself is working well
    • The unit is not that heavy so double sided tape or adhesive velcro strips could work, but there's always the adhesive reliability uncertainty.
    • After you do that step the unit will power cycle and BOOM your online at cable speeds
    • Finally after the sixth call they replaced the unit but sadly the same problems
    • The unit appears to have died.
    • My 12yo niece said that the unit looked like a Channel Lipstick container....
    • I use it on my 5ghz network, which this unit is fine with, and I get pretty decent speeds that way, around 100mbit
    • It appears as though I have received someone else's returned faulty unit.
    • Once it was set up, the unit has worked well
    • This unit was easy to setup and after placing in the game/tv room where signal ranged from fair at best, the signal is now full strength in that room
    • Got an e-mail to return the bad unit
    • Netgear!-----The unit seems to work well as 2G, but I've not been able to get it to work with 5G, despite spending WAY too much time with it
    • However, the unit is effective if you don't need anything fancier than the antennas that it comes with, and the 3-colour light that tells you how good the signal is makes positioning the unit marginally easier (although you can--and you will want to--go into the device's webpage for more
    • Old home with lathe and plaster walls seemed to block previous extenders - this Netgear unit is wonderful.
    • If you are looking for a reliable bridge/repeater unit, I would suggest you keep looking.
    • The unit was obviously overheating and therefore faulty
    • I'm starting to suspect that my unit itself might be faulty..)
    • The unit jams you into the auto-config menu automatically every time, with no button to get to the main configuration page
    • However I could never get the unit to work , horrible set up instructions and support from NetGear
    • So now I'm debating whether or not to follow through in the hopes that I received a bad unit and that a replacement will work, or just giving up on the whole thing and buying a nice Linksys or Hawking device.
    • this is probably a good unit but unless you just wan to have wifi in your backyard this in not the unit for you.
    • So now I'm debating whether or not to follow through in the hopes that I received a bad unit and that a replacement will work, or just giving up on the whole thing and buying a nice Linksys or Hawking device.
    • The couple days I've had this unit has been a headache
    • Now this is simply NOT possible with two computers on the same network segment with the same netmask plugged into the same extender/router unless the unit has serious issues.
    • Finally the last call I was a little po'ed by now and said fix it without rebooting and he could not - that is when he issued the replacement unit
    • Highly recommend this unit!!
    • And, if when experimenting with configurations the unit gets confused, remember to RESET AND START FROM SCRATCH.
    • The first unit failed within a week and Amazon replaced it immediately.
    • Fantastic unit!
    • Not as strong as I though it would be
    • well i
