I found it s bit strange that there was no hard-wired connection from this device to my router, but speeds do not seem to suffer at all

i was afraid it would not work as well as the hard wire

so adding this device to my network expended my signal and gave me 5 ports for hard wired conncetions to local devices

Now, with the Netgear, I get equivalent to hard wired speeds on my wireless ac devices all over the upstairs.

My internet is cable promising "up to" 60 mbps download speeds and hard wired downstairsthru the router.

If you are looking for an easy extension and want a hard wired connection, get this one.
