Went to Scotland and Ireland, this worked well enough, it definitely feels cheap, has some moving components that aren't very solid, they get stuck and you have to pry them out.

Luckily the second one worked perfect for the remainder of our stay.

I would pay the extra for a converter next time, but this worked well enough, I just had to use the hotel hair dryer and avoided using my straightener.

This works really well, but in South Africa you'll need a 2-pin adapter to be able to plug into most outlets.
