the clarity is really really great as well when paired with our two d3100's. if you need a super zoom though i would go for a 300mm alternative but the 200mm should sufice
-
Mine is super clear, the focus is fast and the zoom is smooth
-
The zooming is not smooth
-
My wonderful 16-85mm zoom has not a trace.
-
It a good zoom lens for what i need it for.
-
This lens has given me the right amount zoom and the pictures are very crisp.
-
The zoom is nice and smooth, and the auto focus is on point.
-
If you want a decent zoom and are on a budget, this is your choice
-
My suggestion would be to either buy 70-300 to get significant zoom range or 18-200, 18-250 (sigma) or 18-270 (Tamron) for "do it all" performance.
-
The zoom is smooth
-
As an added bonus, it works very well with the Nikon CL3T closeup lens and does double duty as a macro zoom
-
I love the lens, but as I am limited in the weight I can carry, I end up using the lens with greater zoom power than this one
-
VR is important for this mid-range zoom lens
-
Fantastic zoom lens
-
Great quality lens that fill my needs for a reasonably priced zoom lens and the VR is just an extra goody
-
not good when zooming about 200mm, but still acceptable.
-
My wife has a Nikon D50 and the lens it came with (an 18-70 AF-S zoom) is great for medium focal length shots like portraits, groups of people or generally close quarters
-
The 70-300 shares the 55-200's cheap, sticky zoom, but the 70-300mm lens has enough of an edge in every important performance category to move it from the "very competent" category to the rather sparse category of truly superlative lenses.
-
definitely a good zoom lens to invest in.
-
Best cheap Zoom for Nikon DX format
-
Talking from a photography fan (Im no pro photographer), this lens has a very accurate zoom to it, picture quality is awesome, very similar to the stock 18-55mm the stock lens gives you
-
The automatic focus isn't as fast as I would have liked but the pictures are clear and the zoom is decent.
-
f/3.5-5.6G Vibration Reduction Zoom Lens with Auto Focus for Nikon DSLR Cameras kit lens
-
Offering great zoom and an aperture of 4 at its widest and 5.6 at full zoom means you will get sharp images in average daylight but not very good in lower light conditions unless you use a speed light or on-camera flash
-
We love the lens, it seems like a great zoom length for first timers to a DSLR like us
-
a nice zoom range-VR is great when it works, and can do wonders with panning-light weight (light enough to carry around all day as a tourist)-fairly short, compared to older lenses of this focal length-lens
-
All I can say is this is an incredible zoom lens for the money.
-
I saved approximately $500 and still got a fantastic compact zoom with VR that does everything I expected from the 18-200mm
-
very good zoom lense
-
But a fast telephoto zoom will cost at least three times as much and weigh a ton
-
Good zoom range.
-
I wanted a good zoom lens for a long time but didn't think I could afford one
-
Lightweight, great zoom capabilities and enhances/keeps quality of pictures!Read more
-
I love this lens, it's a great zoom
-
What a difference in my pictures, besides manuel zoom, I love it
-
The zoom is great, and this is a nice lens for the price
-
I will probably invest in a more expensive lens with greater zoom at some point but this will work for me for now.
-
A nice zoom lens to start out with
-
My Wife uses this lens for work in the motorcycle industry and doesn't always have a lot of set up time for the shots, the vibration reduction feature is a must for fast action zooms!
-
You can't go wrong with that, and your photos won't look better with a more expensive super-zoom.
-
For that, you'd need to shell out a few grand to buy a nice f/2.8 zoom lens that will do wonders, but for this price, you can't beat this quality in decent lighting
-
Good zoom lens
-
i love this lens not too expensive and i get some great zoom shots really nice lens and great quality photos couldn't ask for more
-
Zoom was excellent.
-
Thus, the ~11x zoom is quite impressive.
-
the 35mm 1.8G, 85mm 1.8D, 18-105 vr -best travel zoom lens(I had the 18-200mm vr sold it quickly), this lens for the kids sports
-
I far prefer the feel of my 1985 Olympus zoom.
-
I love the zoom on this lens
-
It is brighter and more contrasty compared to the super zooms
-
I also found that 200 mm was not enough zoom range for wildlife or similar photography
-
Good compact zoom lens from Nikon which is as to be expected
-
It is a nice zoom lens though.
-
I would buy this lens again in a heartbeat if I didn't feel as though I could justify more money for one of Nikon's more expensive telephoto zooms.
-
It is a great lens and has a great Zoom
-
It works great with manual or automatic focus, and the VR is really helpful using the zoom.
-
And it it reasonably light in weight compared to the more expensive and higher quality zoom lenses that go up to 200mm
-
Gives you a good zoom for the price as well
-
This lens has good range and produces some nice clear images once you get the hang of the lighting and zoom
-
I consider myself a step above a beginner in photography and wanted an ideal zoom lens to complement the decent but limiting 18-55mm that came with my recently purchased Nikon D40x
-
Even with the hood, it's compact.+ Versatile zoom range.
-
You can't go wrong with that, and your photos won't look better with a more expensive super-zoom.
