Nikon AF-S FX NIKKOR 85mm f/1.4G Lens with Auto Focus for Nikon DSLR Cameras

    • Very nice, sharp images
    • Perfect image quality, build, weight, DOF control, speed
    • Not only it is very sharp image, but also
    • However, I've avoided portraiture work because working in the 50-200mm range never yielded clean, crisp images.
    • but when you get a good copy, this lens produces sharp images with watercolor backgrounds and luminescent bokeh
    • So, if like me your daily job depends upon both stills and video, the poor resultant images due to the apparent chromatic aberration make this lens unusable.
    • It's VERY EXPENSIVE, but the images are beautiful.
    • It is very sharp and renders nice warm contrasty images.
    • Thanks to the wide f/1.4 aperture, you always get a bright image, and on both my D3 and D300, focus is blindingly fast and dead-on accurate
    • All I have say is WOW, this lens performs so very well, portraits are its specialty and with a f/1.4 it performs very well in low light, being 85mm you do need a bit more space to take that full length shot, but when you do, the image is crisp and clear.
    • This is a must buy for anyone who can not only afford it, but wants amazing image quality from their camera.
    • The images I've gotten so far have eye popping clarity with amazing low-light handling and magical bokeh
    • And I get an ultra-sharp image on my D810.I use the 1.8 on my D7xxx DX series cameras for its sharp and lightweight near135mm focal solution.
    • Now, with the new 85mm f/1.4G, I get fantastic image quality, plus much better and faster handling - and to me, that makes it worthwhile
    • This lens is fantastic, on my Nikon D750 or D800 makes super images
    • It has gorgeous buttery bokeh and super sharp images.
    • While some (not all) of it can be removed from still images in post (but many times not without degrading the image), it cannot be removed from video
    • For indoor shoots during night time, even with all the light switch on and set the aperture at f1.4, I still need ISO of between 500-1000 to take decently sharp images with my DX
    • Yes, it is expensive, and the 85 1.8G is a good substitute if you can't afford the 85 1.4G, but if you can afford it, then you will be highly rewarded with beautiful photos
    • Some lower counterparts works better in case of many lenses like 50mm (I like 50mm 1.8G better than 50mm 1.4G) but here I almost paid 3-4 times the price for this one over the 1.8G counterpart
    • On 85mm prime, I previously owned both Nikkor 85mm f/1.8D and 1.4D.Whether the f/1.4 both D and G are really better than the f/1.8D, clearly yes.
    • I like the size, weight and confidence provided by this 85g
    • So, if you are on a budget and don't require sub-1.8 aperture shots, I could not in good conscience advise you to purchase this gem when the 1.8G is so excellent
    • I am sure the 1.8g is amazing!
    • I had previously owned the Nikon 85 1.8G, which was good, but the Nikon 85 1.4G is superior
    • I have owned other 1.8g's the 35mm,and 50mm lenses and think they are amazing, and no need to be at 1.4, but it seems to me(IMO) at the 85mm focal range the 1.4g was worth the step up
    • I bought 1.4g before 1.8g rumors surfaced on internet
