The images at 3000 mm is more useful for snap shots or memory sakes but they wasn't anything I'd consider printing or hanging up

Yes, the sensor is small but you don't have to degrade your images by cropping and enlarging them either

Sampled images look great.

24 mm wide angle and 3000 mm tele both produce nice images

All that zoom is wasted if the images aren't satisfactory

Bottom line: Despite my concerns about the P1000's weight and size, I've found that carrying it, framing shots quickly (motorcycle rider, for example) and shooting without a monopod/tripod produces excellent unedited image quality, at least to this amateur's eyes

No tripod, just laying on a table, so the 3000 isn't as sharp as it could/should be.)The menus are easy to navigate
