Though some super zoom point and shoot cameras may have 1200mm equivalent zoom lenses, I would be willing to bet that with the superb quality and high resolution of the pictures taken with the D3300 and the larger lens at 200mm focal length, I could crop down to a picture that would not be that far off from what one of those super zoom point and shoot cameras can produce at full zoom, in terms of actually being able to make out distant subjects
