It's not a hard wood, so mine chews it up pretty good

I had bought 2 of these about 2 years ago and the screw kept falling off because the wood was so soft but glad this one was fine.

Not all wood is safe for them to chew on

Anyway I was kind of hesitant because it is from China but the wood had no odor and was smooth without any splintered edges

Safe wood (my birds love to chew the bottom), and great entertainment

My birds love to stand on them and taking apart the wood is fun for them too

Will be making my own wooden perches from now on with bird safe woods.

Not sure if that's the softer wood like others mention or what, but so far so good.

The flat top and natural wood make this a favorite for my littlest bird.

The wood holds up well.
