I even tried roughing up a surface and cleaning it with xylol/xylene.

Just clean the surface, stick it on (peel paper off while sticking it down to avoid air bubbles), and roll it over

Slides around even on clean surfaces

*make sure to heat before applying to CLEAN surface

Backing comes off very easily, the sticky side is sticky enough to hold sheet in place by the edge or corner and so long as it's not pressed firmly, also easy to unstick and re-position

From there, I simply worked around the trunk, knocking on the sheet metal as I went and placing material where it was needed
