This works great to keep my mug at a perfect drinking temperature (not steaming hot but well above lukewarm).

If you like a large mug go fatter, not taller because really it is a simple matter of the area of the mug in contact with the hot plate.

Doesn't take into consideration pretty much all ceramic mugs have a lip a the bottom so the bottom of the mug does not have a sufficient contact to efficiently warm the mug

I have used this mug warmer to keep my coffee warm for half of the day (from 7am to 12 noon).

I was worried based on reviews that it would be too small, wouldn't warm my mug if it had a lip on the bottom like most do, and that it would get too hot for my desktop

Excellent product, and, with the right mug of course, this is what you want to keep your coffee nice and hot, and even rescue a cup that has gotten chilled sitting around somewhere

But, if your coffee is new and hot, and you place it on there then yes, this keeps it pretty hot for as long as u have it plugged in 😊👍
