It was really nice but after a month and a half the device stopped working

We have a smart TV so didn't really need a "fancy" streaming device (we're not gamers), but we really love this thing

All consider, the Nvidia Shield Android TV is an excellent streaming device

I doubt it would rise anywhere near the level of PS4/Xbox 1.So, I bought this device to replace my HTPC, as back when I built it, the only way to pass HD audio through to my receiver was with a computer

In my opinion, unless you are tied to the Apple ecosystem, the Shield is far and above the better device

Solid device with 4K.

As it was no longer under warranty they were little inclined to help me and so provided no support letting me know the device was unusable

Just weird design decisions on an otherwise excellent device.

the ROKU was disaster to use and to keep streaming into AV, it was the worst device I've ever owned with the exception the early Sony BD player that eat a new BD and would not eject it

The shield is a nice device but the google store for android tv is very limited

However, if high quality audio is not issue for you or you don't have an audio system, save your money and buy a much cheaper streaming device or streaming stick.
