The interface is just easier to use and there is more support

Android TV's interface is not very good though.

It works great on the Shield as I have wireless keyboard/mouse combo, FLIRC adapter and multiple game controllers connected at once.5

If you haven't seen the Shield TV yet, the difference between the awesome abilities of Android TV won't be missed as you'll be busy watching whatever it is that you're streaming

Even after a factor reset, it was no where near as fast as it should be
