NVIDIA SHIELD TV Gaming Edition | 4K HDR Streaming Media Player with GeForce NOW

    • For those of us w/ a LOT of media, Plex is the pinnacle of enjoying your own media with the best interface possible (and it's free); whereas KODI is the best way for streaming media from the internet
    • Nvidia really done their homework on this one with a very clean and simple interface and regular updates
    • Very fast and smooth interface
    • Between the overall connectivity issues including lag, common need for reboot, controller going dead within 3 days despite minimal use, and lack of a decent interface I would say you are going to be better off with rabbit ears and an old black and white tv.
    • Amazon Prime streams well, but the interface stinks (not NVidia's fault, though, and their interface stinks on every platform as
    • Pros-Quick bootup-Apps run faster with alot less crashes-cool intuitive interface-android OS-nvidia keeps OS up to dateCons-Android tv, rather than full android
    • The interface is also a nightmare.
    • Works flawlessly at high speed with a great interface, highly recommended.
    • Great Product and Great Interface
    • Beautiful interface
    • The Mi Box was the best all-rounder with a decent interface and remote, but sadly underpowered
    • Apps run smoothly and open quicker and the interface is nice
    • This thing is so slow and interface is unresponsive.
    • Excellent interface, extremely fast response times, and effortlessly plays titles that my Minix Neo U1 would crash upon playing
    • The bonus was it actually turns my AVR and TV off/on with the power on the shield... this pretty much does everything I've used my HTPC and Chromecast for, but with a much nicer interface...
    • Fast and snappy interface
    • I may try and root it to squeeze some more features out of it as well as upgrade the interface.- No settings, Network Attached Storage wasn't of any apparent use
    • The interface is fast
    • Don't get me wrong, the interface of the Shield TV is decent, but it just doesn't offer that much over the interfaces of smart TVs or even last generation game consoles
    • Love the user interface...apps that are available.
    • Interface is fast
    • half of that is due to the fact that the remote is just terrible at responding to input and half is the crazy interface Nvidia dreamed up
    • Clearly the interface is snappy, the hardware is great, and it's a cool device on other fronts (4K capabilities, gaming, etc.)
    • A bit quicker on startup and shut down but really nice interface and smooth video
    • Google TV has a good interface and it has access to Amazon, unlike Apple TV
    • It works, but it's a poor user interface.
    • Interface is awesome!
    • Basic take away:The Nvidia Shield is 75% about Nvidia & Google promotions, 5% idiosyncratic randomness, 5% poor interface, and 5% about your needs
    • 5/5The main interface is very clean and very fast
    • SHIELD:)first off android boxes is a mother, and as my second android, this box has a very everlasting interface, and a hardware just as durable as its name theSHIELD.and if you know android, then you know this box has everything and/or can get everything(4free)except tv (haha) but you could receive some .no buffering, high definition game play, full blown playstation 4 quality especially when subscripted 2 a real franchise game, and if you have the know how, full web browser, and unreleased movies.(take on the go
    • The processing speed is phenomenally and the interface is excellent
    • (No I never tried a Roku Premiere+/Ultra, mainly bc of the horrendous PSVue interface there.)PLUS, this works perfectly with my Harmony Hub/Elite universal remote - no IR necessary, as it connects through bluetooth just like the included remote.
    • For the record, I have a LAN cable from my PC to my modem, and wifi from my modem to the Shield TV.Pros:- Will play practically any video you throw at it, even in apps like Archos that aren't as optimised as Kodi.- Great, responsive interface (being Android
    • It's still faster than most top end generic Android boxes out there no lag or delay in even with multiple apps, can run kodi but interface is nice.
    • Super fast interface and works exceedingly well
    • If that's all you need, though, you might consider saving some money and going with either a Roku or Fire TV, but I will say that I prefer the interface of the Shield TV to either of those options
    • The interface is responsive and easy to use
    • Easy interface, amazing performance and fast streaming...
    • Interface is easy to use and navigation is easy.
    • If you are sick of buying media players that never have enough grunt and have horrible interfaces, the buck stops here
    • So happy with overall streaming and great interface with my GTX card
    • the interface feels so impressive there is no lag and ypu dont have to worry about going to quick
    • The interface is nice and fluid and user friendly
    • Don`t believe all the hype, there is a lot they are not telling you
    • It consistantly lags after pressing the buttons and will only work as it should if you are no more than three feet away from the Shield TV, and that is even "iffy".
    • and now she never misses a
    • I would hook up a PS4 controller or my headphones but doesn't seem to be working as of April
    • I didn't knock a
    • Amazon Prime streams well, but the interface stinks (not NVidia's fault, though, and their interface stinks on every platform as
    • So if you're going to game with one controller, would recommend using Moonlight app on the shield tv, as it's much smoother than nvidia app
    • After one month of using I have noticed that my Nvidia Shield TV (2017) has started to overheat (up to 70 C), the interface started to stutter, video playback started to lag and the game controller started to press its keys by itself
