OBi202 2-Port VoIP Phone Adapter with Google Voice and Fax Support for Home and SOHO Phone Service

    • I honestly do not think I'll be changing anything because I made phone calls to the folks who complained that my voice was in/out in my previous VoIP service, and the quality was just great.
    • Good call quality, easy install and activation, over-all good product
    • I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for an outstanding quality phone adapter.
    • Made a few calls - when not filtering the traffic through it, quality was bad
    • Although the Ooma has really impressive call quality and solid reliability, the OBi202 is even more reliable, with even higher call quality - for less than half the price!
    • Cheap price isn't worth it when it's cheap quality.
    • High quality, reliable
    • It gives you a Fantastic Call Quality
    • Call quality between teh Ooma and Obi were similar, and somewhat better than the Vonage service
    • excellent voice quality and easy setup
    • Overall good quality, and it appears to give better sound quality than those that comes with the other VOIP vendors
    • However, I understand from my daughter who live in Manhattan, that if you live in a dense, metropolitan area, where everyone is using a lot of internet bandwidth, you should know that your internet connection may not support good phone quality
    • Big fail on path to "cut-the-cord" with a voice service alternative having tried MagicJack (terrible voice quality #FAIL), Nettalk (seriously QoS please #FAIL)
    • This device gives extremely good call quality using Google voice
    • Now I have great/clear call quality on 2 lines just like before.
    • Problem is sound quality and call quality are not as good.
    • With OBI i manage to have great voice quality between two OBI devices connected in different countries and with Google Voice
    • Pros:-Great Device ,-Easy set-up using obitalk.com,-No bills using GV,-911 service $15/year using Anevo,-Good call quality- You can have 2 different
    • By integrating the OBi202 and PhonePower, a great service becomes even better (and much cheaper). For those who are not aware, Google Voice experienced periodic outages and erratic quality that should cause discerning users to rate GV as an unacceptable service in a contemporary communication environment in which we all have high expectations for making and receiving phone calls without interruptions
    • This vendor produces excellent quality equipment for the VoIP application
    • As it took a while to help with the install and the gifted did not like the quality, this product appears to be NON-REFUNDABLE.
    • Stable and clear quality calls.
    • But again the obi works great very high quality calls
    • Quality of the call is great
    • It has better voice quality than vonage.
    • The quality of calls has been consistently excellent and over the years with the older model, and has been excellent with this newer one
    • This is an over priced product with bad quality and zero support.
    • Great sound quality.
    • Excellent call quality no hissing noise or static
    • High quality, amazingly easy set up.
    • I was hoping to save money on my main phone's calling plan during lengthy work conference calls but the sound quality has been so spotty and the reliability
    • No quality issues.
    • Good call quality and fairly easy to setup.
    • Setup is quick and easy through their web portal and voice quality is crystal clear.
    • If you're using your cell at home and want a landline backup with better voice quality, this is an easy decision
    • Using it with Google Voice and the sound quality is excellent
    • A small investment for FREE phone service is an understatement and, not to mention, the sound quality is perfect!
    • Super quick delivery, superior quality, fair price, easy to set up, saving me $30/month for cable phone service and this has so many features my cable service did not have.
    • Successfully installed the OBI202 & ObiWifi behind G1100 (Verizon FiOS) router without issues (no need for port forwarding, DMZ host set up, firewall, etc, just plug & play), after switching to the bridge mode (default mode for OBI is the router mode with DHCP)Google Voice works without issues with a good quality (no need to touch QoS)We set an extra PSTN (landline) phone with the Google Voice & new number, having one more PSTN outlet for second line (thanks to OBI202)
    • But have had it for over a year and good build quality
    • I just do not like the sound quality, I am not sure if it is directly linked to the product or that is just the way VoIP works.
    • good quality line with us and canada included for $60 total a year
    • Easy to Install with fantastic sound Quality.
    • Voice quality indistinguishable from old landline (much better than cell), plus brings landline into the 21st century
    • Good quality and works well!
    • Outstanding call quality (better than the Grandstream I got from phone.com)
    • I am using this for voice and fax, both with perfect quality
    • It went smoothly and sound quality is quite good
    • But rather than rehash all of the great qualities of this device, I thought to provide a little background on how exactly the Obi works since calling the mechanism as one using "Google Voice" doesn't describe the whole picture
    • The sound quality is great and i've held LONG phone calls with it with no problems at all
    • Easy to set up, excellent voice quality.
    • awesome voice quality
    • Call quality and ease of use are exceptional (in a good way). The one issue that I still need to work out is how to activate Google Voice and retain my 2-step authentication
    • Sound quality is great
    • The quality is good, if not great, and basically you get phone service with no further costs
    • When using it with my 5 years old wireless telephone, I find the sound quality to be better than my cellphone
    • Calling the phone attached to the device from a cell phone and having a conversation with my wifeIn scenario 1, the quality has been excellent from my perspective
    • The sound quality is great
    • amazing voice quality
    • Sound quality is good.
    • There is a OBI wifi adapter $20 to connect to your router via wi-fi, but hard wired router connection is recommended for better quality
    • I have used other VoIP solutions before that did not have great quality.
    • Call quality great and nice portable unit if travelling abroad.
    • Great porduct, clear calls, no drop or poor QOS( QUALITY OF SERVICE) all above par.
    • While this is a hack of an engineering job, the device works surprisingly fine with extremely good voice quality
    • I expected to lose a little quality with this device, but I cannot tell the difference between this device and a cable phone.
    • Now I can finally cut the cord (literally) from my phone service...good quality service, free long distance, no extra charges...
    • With the obi I can send and receive faxes; Google voice works perfectly, with excellent call quality
    • Others have said they had noise, but my sound quality is perfect.
    • very nicely designed and well supported, excellent audio quality and features
    • I tried the Magic Jack devices too, but found that they had poor line quality and the fax didn't really work with it
    • Super easy to setup and very good voice quality.
    • However, I understand from my daughter who live in Manhattan, that if you live in a dense, metropolitan area, where everyone is using a lot of internet bandwidth, you should know that your internet connection may not support good phone quality
    • Sound quality is great and I have no problem receiving faxes
    • The quality of the voice over the OBi202 is excellent and identical to the old hard wired land line
    • EDIT 11/21/2016: Over three years later and the device continues to function just fine with great call quality
    • Quality is great, so make sure your internet is capable of maintaining high speeds
    • The sound quality is exceptional
    • So with that said, I saw some issues with installation an poor quality, not say you're crazy, but I have to come out and say if you jump to conclusions and start second guessing the install process you will fail
    • Excellent, high-quality device with full Google Voice support
    • The sound quality is outstanding!
    • To conclude - the device is truly an engineering marvel (a lot of important options can be set up via voice prompts on connected phone), has great potential (probably the best VOIP adapter currently in this price range) but firmware quality needs to improve and more support needs to be provided for manual configuration instead of pushing all users towards OBi portal.
    • and it does high quality faction very well through the Google voice service
    • I found this to be more reliable than magic jack with better phone quality and no monthly fees (as long as google voice stays free).
    • The sound quality is terrific.
    • It was actually a problem in Google and nothing to do with OBI.No more phone bills and the quality is excellent on my data plan which is 30Mbps down and 5Mbps up.
    • Setup was a breeze, sound quality is great
    • I would probably put up with Port 1 not working for fax, but the quality of calls is completely unacceptable
    • Therefore, before making your purchase, please keep this in mind.**************I have just purchased and setup the OBi202 VoIP phone adapter with router in couple months, the quality of the equipment seems to be built with good sturdy material; the device is working so far so good; the setup of my VoIP phone calls is with "Google Voice", which it currently still offers free unlimited U.S. & Canada calls at this time; the quality of sound is excellent, and so far I haven't experience any drop calls (my friend uses Magic Jack, and the drop calls happen on a frequent basis), the only one minor thing is that once in a while, you might hear some soft echo, but it doesn't happen that often at all, and it never have any echo for local calls as I have noticed (I read some reviews during my research for the VoIP device, this echo is a well known problem for a lot of VoIP adapters, some brands are worst than others, and "Ooma" device has the same problem through the reviews those I have read, perhaps more often than OBi adapter); therefore, once in a while with the soft echo issue, it doesn't post a real problem of irritation
    • Quality of calls is very good on my 10Mb cable connection
    • Great voice quality with all the bells-and-whistles of Google Voice (e.g. voicemail transcription, call screening, conference calling, # caller ID (not sure if it's possible to also show caller name).
    • Plus the quality of the calls is much better than I got with SKYPE.
    • Receiving faxes took same time (1020 seconds approximately for 29 page fax receipt in fine quality and about 640 seconds on standard resolution on wired and wireless connection)2
    • SO MUCH better sound quality
    • Easy configuration, great sound quality and reliable, stable operation
    • The quality of the signal is great, the sound is wonderful, and no connection was interrupted so far.
    • Free USA calls with GV w/ good sound quality
    • With even better quality
    • Obi has good sound quality and variety of ways to use them
    • I can't explain in word, but this adapter is awesome and great voice quality
    • Excellence sound quality and features Works well with google voice
    • Set up took all of 5 minutes and the sound quality is perfect
    • The OBi202 VoIP phone adapter is providing excellent call quality for no cost
    • I forwarded my home phone # thru Comcast voice forward to the temporary Google Voice phone number they assign to test this OBI box for one month, almost done testing and have had no dropped call, very clear sound quality
    • Now I've been in Africa for three weeks, and I can call home everynight for free, and with an outstanding quality
    • Its quality is excellent and I have no complaint
    • VERY UNRELIABLE VOICE QUALITY, THE OTHER PARTY CANNOT HEAR ME WELL.I HAD OOMA FOR MANY YEARS, I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM
    • Made a quick test call to a friend and it was perfect quality better than what I had with my cable service.
    • I set it up correctly, but Port 1 never worked for fax, and the quality of calls is terrible, plus the fact that it keeps dropping calls randomly, every single call after 15 or 30 minutes gets cut off
    • But, the ATA is of good quality and is very easy to configure multiple VOIP providers, which I did
    • I've never had a problem yet with this device and the quality is superb!
    • Works perfect, sound quality is as good as the phone company
    • Quality with several services I've tried is great so far (GVoice, and SIP providers), and I have not even tried putting it in front of my router to get higher quality audio
    • After using this product for two weeks with Google Voice, the quality has exceeded my expectations.
    • Great quality.
    • Very clear voice quality.
    • And either way you'll get numeric caller ID, voice mail (through Google Voice), free long distance, great voice quality, etc
    • good quality of device
    • Excellent sound quality - just a little service problems with Google Voice - but not the fault of the unit.
    • All work well - voice quality is superb, and I've never had disconnection issues.
    • Voice quality fabulous!
    • First of all, i tend to dislike VOIP because, if the connection is strained, it gets to be bad quality
    • Cant go wrong...no more phone bills...excellent voice quality...very easy to setup with google voice...works with fax too...should I write more?
    • I can not only easily run 2 phone services but can run 4 at the same time with great voice quality
    • It has been working flawlessly for us with superb voice quality and reliability.
    • Calls are clear with good quality
    • Other than that, I love the sound quality
    • Using Winfax on a Windows XP Sony Vaio as well as with a second Sony Vaio with Windows 7 Home Premium using Windows FAX capability
    • Works as it should and it was very easy to setup.
    • Obihai isn't exactly invisible during installation, since you will be using their site for registration and setup, but it's about as close to transparent as it gets.
    • Works as I expected
    • Google voice still works great as of 2015
    • In other words, the conversation flow just doesn't seem as smooth as with my paid-monthly VoIP service operating on the same Internet connection and router
    • We purchased this to set up a temporary line for my wife to receive calls for her work as well as to have a line available for
    • Voip.ms seems to be the most affordable as of now, as it is a pay per call service and has excellent rates
    • Easy to set up initially, the OBi202 VoIP Phone Adapter with Router-2-Phone, worked as it should in a segment that's full of crappy products
    • Pretty much just works as it should with google voice.
    • I received an email from the manufacturer (Obihai Technology) stating that they are going to discontinue Google Voice support as of May 15, 2014.
    • I have used it in Hotels now in three different countries and it never misses a call!I like the setup and reliability so much that I recommended them to my company for their SIP needs!!
    • Am pretty confident there will be excellent performance on WiFi as I well
    • I run a small business from my house and want something cheaper than another AT&T landline and more reliable than my cell phone.
    • Activate the phone using the Tracfone web site and select the option to port an existing number (in this case my AT&T land line number)
    • n’t ding the product too hard for
    • The next step in the total phone # conversion will be to port my Comcast very old phone # used for over 30 years to a T mobile cheap cell phone which cost $1.50 for a GSM sim card and $20 for a cheap BLU brand unlocked GSM phone to port my Comcast land line to the temporary cell phone
