Oculus Rift - Virtual Reality Headset

    • The image was blurry and poorly resolved in just about all the positions I tried wearing it
    • If your eyes deviate from this small area even by a small amount, the image becomes blurry
    • The device is light, fairly comfortable, and has a clear image.
    • It also lacks the ability to change the distance of the lenses from your eyes, I ended up having to wear the headset very loose to make the lenses sit at a comfortable distance so the image was sharp; I have 20/20 vision for those of you who are curious
    • Here is why: The way that V.R. Lenses are built they have an optimal focal point or area that your eye needs to be inside in order for the image to not become blurry
    • It uses fresnel lenses that break up the image into somewhat of a ring-appearance, the outcome being a halo or glow effect that I find very distracting, and worse, nauseating
    • The real disappointment was the image quality - its simply not good enough and for me completely breaks any sense immersion.
    • That is, the tiny area at the very center of the Vive's Fresnel lenses that produce a sharp image.
    • The real disappointment was the image quality - its simply not good enough and for me completely breaks any sense immersion.
    • I've been spoiled with Crystal clear images using high res, high refresh rate monitors and hoped this would at least be similar
    • Oculus, you have a great product but testing it on people like me just makes for poor image
    • And, as much as I love it, it stopped working as of 5/25/17
    • The *only* cons I can think of:Wired connection to the PC is prone to tangle around you as you play, but if you have someone nearby to help untangle is not a big deal
